I'll miss Beltran as well as Miller. It has been a long while since the Yankees have been in this position. It's bitter sweet but I'm glad they went to contenders.
funny..just watched ESPN.com and they were saying that Tate's velocity has been down compared to where he was in college
Yep saw that as well, but the overall feel was that the Yankees had done well. Very unusual for the Red Sox Big Sloppi worshipers.
...future is looking brighter. I'm really looking forward to it and am actually a little excited about this franchise for the first time in awhile. ...they still need to address the minor league management/coaching program and the inability of the franchise to actually groom and develop the youngsters...otherwise, it will be the same old shit.
Not only that but kid had a hammy that put him on the dl after starting off like a house afire with a 0.00 era after a couple of starts with a lot of k's. After coming back struggled a few times including a relief appearance for some reason that saw him retire only one of six hitters in a third of an inning which was a big part of the high era. Kid has pitched better recently and every scout or writer that commented on it I saw said they were surprised yanks could get this kid in the beltran deal for a 2 month rental. Imo this kid will be fine as long as the hammy is actually healed. Tate was actually a relief pitcher in college until his junior year so his conversion and quick rise as a starter becoming the 4th overall pick is remarkable. Imo kid will be fine and a good add to the staff going forward.
