IF THEY'RE BOTH SET UP AND RUNNING, THE SIM CARD WON'T MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE.

 

eh, he'd have to buy a Brazillian Sim card then.

 

Why? Two phones, each set up independently, one stays with him, the other goes in the safe. Auto-backup all data and photos. If the first phone goes bye-bye, simply download the backed-up data, and go about your business.

 

Again, you'll only have one SIM card though. If the phone with the sim card is stolen he'd either have to go all wifi or buy a new brazillian sim.

 

I always travel with a backup phone FWIW.

 

no international roaming on pre-paid plans.

 

It's simple...you buy a phone card and a cheap burner cell phone...can call anywhere ...you realize HCP probably shouldn't be roaming internationally anyway..if he had the best service on the planet, he's still getting a busy signal when calling home

 

Why wouldn't the second phone already have a sim card?

 

So he'll pay for two different lines? How is he going to activate a sim card while in Brazil? You have to activate in the U.S. and then take it over if he wants to use T-mobile's global roaming.

Done! Opened up an T Mobile account. threw the SIM card in my phone and it works perfectly. If I get mugged and the iPhone gets jacked......I'll just walk around with me iPad Pro and use wifi calling FAMS!
