C. Green (1-2, 4.56)

vs.

S. Matz (8-7, 3.35)

Lineups to follow...

Pitching match favors the National League Team. Maybe we'll get lucky tonight and see Headley and Ellsbury help out their team with some hitting for a change.

...^^^ if those two can manage to go a combined 2 for 8 they'll be helping their team.

I'm baffled Gardner, Pineda, Headley are still on the team, ....

I'd of moved these sloppy playing amateurs, for damn near nothing in return, or all 3 for 1 solid prospect.

If only Tadpole grew some balls, to send A-Roid, Tex, and CC home....send the other 3 to SWB-....

another factor unmentioned is: The Yanx should move up in the draft this year....how far up is the million dollar Q-?

I haven't said much about Gardner, reason being he should have been gone the same year he got that raise, then his performance went south. Many times I wondered why he did not steal or take extra bases. All in al though I have a bit more respect for him than Headley & Ellsbury. Their uniform logos should be red X' like Military Crew Chiefs place on a 2404 mening this aircraft is grounded. Or perhaps a DEADLINE sticker over their lockers. But looks like they'll be around for a few more agonizing seasons until they can be gotten rid of.

Ellsbury -CF
Refsnyder -RF
Teixeira -1B
Headley -3B
Castro -2B
Gregorious -SS
Romine -C
Sanchez -DH
Hicks -LF

...Sanchez DHing...interesting.

...I like Refsnyder in the 2 spot...but Gregorius and Tex need to switch spots.

Looking forward to seeing Sanchez, I'm a Ref fan, glad to see those young guys get a chance to play.

Pregame Girardi interview with Suzyn Waldman:
Sanchez has a sore left thumb, Girardi is DHing him just to give him an extra day or two before he catches.
Cashman has said (Tuesday interview) Sanchez he will get ABs both catching and DH- this could be one step closer to Yanks parting with Arod.

Girardi also said he's playing Hicks in LF because he wanted to give Gardner a day off, "he's a little banged up"...
Yep, he actually said that.
I actually don't mind getting Hicks some ABs instead of Gardner, I know Hicks has been awful but he still barely has 200 ABs this season and it still isn't impossible for him to begin showing some life......however, what about Ben Gamel....he's been here since Monday and the Yanks want to give the young players some playing time. Why is he here? Can't have young players sitting around AND he's been one of their best players at AAA.....
WTF is going on? Fuk Gardner.....he's run his course.

Green looks terrible out there.....bad body language and no poise or command whatsoever.
Ah shit, not what we needed and not what we want to see-
.... a scared rattled SP getting a taste of the "subway series".
And you just know Grandy would hit at least one HR in these two games at YS.
He probably still has an occasional wet dream about hitting at YS. lol

Ellsbury's contract can't end fast enough for me. How about maybe getting your body behind the ball instead of the ole style.

Any particular reason why Green was given Nova's spot in the rotation?
I'm in favor of giving Green an opportunity to show what he can do but not instead of Severino.
The Yankee organization is flat out dumb when it comes to "pitching".
They recalled Severino and have him pitching out of the bullpen with Green taking a regular turn in the rotation? Sevey is still the org's best most advanced young SP-
PUT HIM IN THE ROTATION and live with his growing pains (if any) for the remainder of the season.

This is valuable period of time for the Yanks and Severino- Yanks in "rebuilding" mode, and they're going to allow the 2nd half of this season to pass without letting Severino start?

Yeah, I dont understand seve in the bullpen either.Hope this doesn't become another joba rules clusterfuck

Funny - Tex hits a HR and the next time up this young puke face Matz drills him perfectly on the leg meanwhile Loney who has been clobbering the Yanks over .340 lifetime wearing different uniforms has yet to taste dirt let alone feel some pain.
Typical Yankee pitching "philosophy" .....they allow the same hitters to bash them year after year, over and over without an obligatory "brush back" pitch.
Fat Papi has been humiliating numerous Yankee pitchers through the years and he continues to flash them a cute little smile.
Don't these guys have any pride?

In the top of 7th inning..............
Severino's bails out Headley's error ( a double play grounder) and Tex's mental error by not getting
the tying run at 2B, but getting the batter. Severino has character. Headcase & Texbump are not
scheduled for the future.

Ellsbury shits at the plate with the lumber on his shoulder. Like to see him outta here!

Nice to see Severino bounce back, time to put this kid back in the starting rotation.

Tex playing head games with Robles. And Tex excels at making the opposing pitcher blow up.
And Tex smiles. Ahhh, small victories!

That was funny. Robles was being way too paranoid.

...Severino reminds me of Mo when he first came up...highly touted but failed as a starter...and the rest is history

One thing with Sevey in there, you could sit back and watch the game. Even after Headleys fuck up the man stayed cool. Texeria got animated this evening, damn did not know he had it in him. Always glad to see the Yankees kick butt on the National League Team.

Cespedes headed to the DL. It's not going to be in the cards for the Mets either this season.

And I would still like to see the Yanks finish with a better record because that's just the way it is.

Mutts had their run last year and fell short of getting a parade.
"Winning" ain't easy.

That Cespedes DL trip was mentions quite a bit last night. Seems he was out playing golf with that moron Kevin Millar.

Yeah, for a young kid, the guy is Composed beyond his years, IMO...

Love the analogy to MO', ...

"In 4 1/3 stellar innings of relief, Luis Severino allowed one unearned run on one hit with one walk and five strikeouts".

I wish Severino the best-
