I'd love to see the results of a secret ballot for worst teammate, as voted by for their own teammates. Something tells me, it would come down to Harden, for his non-stop ball hogging and Westbrook for his hero ball tactics and benching of Enes Kanter in the playoffs against GSW, with D'Angelo Russell winning the equivalent of ROY for throwing Swaggy P under the bus. 30 players out of hundreds is not a participation award by any reasonable measure. It's not league MVP or MIP level or even AllStar game level, but the importance of the individual teammate and how they can improve morale and other non-stat ways shouldn't be underestimated and undervalued. All of us have worked with and played with people that make the group perform better by their actions and mere words just as we all know people that are toxic to group success. This is a more significant reward than some of us are considering. My 2 cents.
Nope. It's one for every team. Sacremento can't really have one... They have Rondo and Cousins. No one can save that. That alone makes the award moot.
Significant? He got an award for being the best teammate on the team when he's the leader. Its like giving a student with an IQ double everyone else's a yearbook award saying "Smartest Student"
