Glad he made that decision, certainly a more honorable route than getting dumped. A-rodham (hint hint) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tex has been playing with a bum knee and it has had an effect on his plate production........ and yes, given that, announcing his retirement is honorable and right. By not prolonging the inevitable, (it) opens the gates for the Yankee youth movement. Must be tough but I give him credit. Besides I am sure he saw the writing on the wall....unlike A-Roid! I have been on him for a while now...........more for some remarks he's made and for his horrible plate appearances by grounding out into that batter's shift.
I was going to rant on him for being soft and sitting out again. I respect him more now for knowing when it's time to hang it up.
At one time I viewed him as a future HOFer, but he's been in steady decline for several years now. Edit...and fwiw, I don't give him a pass for announcing his retirement 50 games early...he was done after this year anyway.
...^^^ nema.... it's about fkng time.....~~!! Sayonara Tex- .... (actually appreciated Tex's arrival, but in hindsight, FOR A M. Trout Compensatory Pick... Wish Trashman knew a bit more about Trout before he landed Tex....
Gotta admit, I didn't know Cashman was THIS BAD....so now he takes the hit for Trout not being Edit...and fwiw, I don't give him a pass for announcing his retirement 50 games early...he was done after this year anyway. Tex doesn't get a "pass"? Is this supposed to suggest he was somehow at fault or has some burden of blame because he chose to announce his retirement at this point in time? Somebody help me out.......I don't awake in the mornings to a cup of vinegar.
