I sometimes forget that Aminu is only 25. It's crazy how young our team is.

It bears repeating.......Aminu has the tallest standing reach on the team. (1/2 inch longer than both Ezeli and Meyers)
Although he is not heavy as some PF's, I will take the trade off any day since he can guard the perimeter better than most other PF's in the NBA.

As for this comment............"Evan Turner, who inked a four-year, $70-million deal as an unrestricted free agent in July, will seemingly be inserted into the lineup at SF, but Stotts has yet to sign off on such a move, especially with Allen Crabbe (four years, $75 million) in the equation"

I am glad Stotts has not signed off on it. ET played his best ball last year in the back court and Crabbe and Harkless need to play too. I would not seemingly insert him at SF either.

Yeah, ever since Olshey let it slip in the Turner press conference, I've wondered about how it affects the roster. While it does give us a small ball high energy lineup, it gives the Blazers less options off the bench and creates a logjam with our big...especially if Aminu plays all his minutes at the 4. Stotts is probably going to use a starting lineup of Lillard, McCollum, Turner, Aminu, and Switch between starting Plumlee and Ezeli at center. Send Turner and CJ to the bench early to bring them out with the 2nd unit with Turner at the point, CJ at 2 guard, Crabbe at the three, alternate between Harkless, Meyers and Davis at the 4 depending on who the Blazers are playing. Harkless will see time at the three, and Crabbe at the two meaning Connaughton will not see a lot of minutes, Vonleh fewer unless there are injuries.

That's a good thing but also that the ceiling on our potential is unknown. I'm a bit hesitant about making predictions. We know we've got about five years of Dame and CJ at their peak. But I think Olshey is banking on an X factor; that Vonleh will develop into a low post threat, that maybe Layman will become a gem or just enough players raise their fame in general. It doesn't have to be NOW but it may be down the line. Banking on the culture of hardwork and commitment the Blazers have built is as important as any signing we've made.

(Also notice how I left Beibs out of this conversation.)

We will have one hell of a 6th man, either way. And 7th and 8th...

I wonder how effective a small ball lineup of Harkless at PF and Aminu at C would be.

It could certainly matchup well defensively when Golden State goes small:

    Curry 6'3 = Lillard 6'3
    Thompson 6'7 > Crabbe 6'6 (or CJ)
    Iggy 6'7 = Turner 6'7
    Durant 7'0? > Harkless 6'9
    Green 6'7 < Aminu 6'9

We'd match up with their smallball really well with that lineup.

Pretty sure Durant is 6'11 or 7'0.

Edit- There is no fucking way Durant is 6'9.

    No. Way.

    Maybe when he was drafted.

I'm not contesting your point. I'm just laughing at Durant for trying to pass it off that he's 6'9.

It make sense for players to say they are taller then they are/be listed as taller...but what is there to gained by saying you are shorter than you are?

Garnett used to do the same shit.

They don't want to be classified as a "big man" because they're 7 footers.

Doesn't it just make players like them more valuable? Has Durant played a substantial amount of minutes at the 4...I know he's played the majority of his minutes at the 3

Today, during USA vs China, the announcer kept talking about how Durant is 7'.

Kareem never stood up straight next to a tape measure. Maybe the 7' mark makes these guys feel like they're freaks?
