Went out to ESPN to check scores and saw a Marchand sidecar article which stated that the Yankees and A-rod are scheduled for a press conference at 11 AM tomorrow August 9. Who knows maybe he's agreed to move on.

^^^Can't imagine what else the press conference would be about...looks like the day I've been waiting years for is finally here.

Can't imagine he's staying. One by one they know they are not part of Yankee future plans.
Now, go ahead and make a liar out of me! I dare you!

I hope to hell, A-Roid is man enough to admit, he's done playing ball at any level as low as single A. Hope he does like Tex (without crying) and hangs his career up, and forfeits hanging onto next years (unjustifiable) Contract.....that would be the only right thing to do, or happen....

hell as many bad moves as Trashcan man has made, it would surprise me at this point, to hear #13 and CheckBook, have agreed upon a one year extension into 2018. I can just hear our GM stuttering justification, along with the H&H hemorrhoid hanky twins, "we realized with all these young kids coming, we're gonna' need a Veteran presence in the clubhouse". What I'd give to see Cashman hand #13, a pair of pom poms and a one way ticket home....

Now that would piss me off, in any capacity, ball washer, shoe shiner, this guy has single handedly tarnished the Yanx brand one too many times, in ways he should of never been allowed to wear stripes again, less prison issue clothes.....

It's clear he's finished and can't hit anymore. He will announce his retirement and I'm sure he and the Yankees have agreed on a settlement for the final year of his contract.

I agree with you Vic, I think it's time to hang it up. I hope they let him hang around and mentor the kids that come up. One thing positive about him is that he is a very knowledgeable baseball player.

...can't wait to see what this team looks like next year...it will be almost unrecognizable compared to this year's team.

Since the day this Human Cancer Stain signed with the Yankees I was torn with knowing that he was a great player but not in the mold of that roster of Yankees who were team first. I was happy when he filled the Boxscore but only for the team. How he chose to handle the Ban Substance Issues was deplorable. His act to save his contract and court maneuvers were even more deplorable. So I will say thank you Arod, but don't let the door hit you in the ass as you exit. Now with the Cancer gone, I can look forward to rooting for my Yankees as I always have for 55 years of my life since I was six. I will welcome the rebuild, the highs and lows of seeing the next Bernie, Jorge, Andy, Mo & Derek come through. ANd I will never think of that puke again. I will pray that he is left out of Old Timers Days. We finally have our Yankees back I hope. Let the next core begin.

I never cared for A-rods signing myself, remember on the old ESPN Boards People would say A-rod was a better SS than Jeter. Turns out that Jeter was the better Yankee and the better man. I hope to see tomorrow be A-rods last day with this team. I always considered Joe Pepitone to be the franchise dirtbag , but A-rod has earned that title hands down. As Roy Clark once sang "thank God and Greyhound You're Gone.

Interesting and kinda exciting for the moment.
One of those very rare occasions where a team and a high profile veteran come out publicly and part ways during the season.

    Also:
Sanchez is "here to play" and projecting to 2017, McCann possibly seeing time at 1b.
Bird is the 1b, but McCann could be in some kind of rotation at DH, (backup 1b and C).

...aside from Yankee fans, I gotta believe there will be a lot of players as well as MLBPA officials who will be glad ARod is gone.

You think he's more despised than Bonds?

...^^^ hell yeah...I think ARod unwittingly did Bonds a big favor...ARod is now the universal poster boy for PEDs.

...needless to say, I can't stand Bonds either and I hope neither of them sniffs the HOF during their lifetime.

This like Jimmy Carter calling Obama to thank him for replacing him as the worst president in American History. That is what Arod did for Bonds
