...his last game will be Friday.

...then hopefully he's gone and to use a Mike Tyson misspoken tidbit "just fade into Bolivian".

He's already being paid and it's a chance for him to begin a multi year mea culpa.

Fitting his last road series will be at Fenway. I'm sure Boston fans will give him a proper send off.

^^^I'm just hoping this "advisory" roll will be related to the minor leaguers, because I really don't wanna look in the dugout and see his sorry ass anymore...as far as any settlement with him, I don't think there's any reason for him to take a penny less that what he's already owed and I don't think there's any reason for the Yanx to pay him a penny more.

One thing about the Yankees, they treat issues and people pretty much in a classy manner. That man was treated with much more courtesy and respect than he had earned. Just glad that he'll be out of Dodge, feel good for Girardi now that he's free of all that melodrama.

Just what the H&H Twins need, another consultant or drinking buddy in the booth during games; a yes boy to be seen with on the golf course. More dead weight,

    or-

will the Pharmacist be another GM homer, for Brian to cry too. He's already got: Reggie, Tino, and Stump.....so the Twins are jealous, they too need a drinking buddy, ...? What's Alex going to tell them they don't know? Anything spoken- !

as stated prior by another, at least he's off the field, a roster spot reclaimed....joy joy!!!

Nah, they let him save face while moving the franchise forward with a major pivot. This was not 'the plan' but that said its a fine glass of lemonade from the albatross lemons.

Arod is going to get paid over $21 million for doing nothing.

He'll be some kind of advisor and work with the kids in the minors until the end of calendar year 2017.
He is getting paid for next year.
Arod likes to work with the young players (in two languages) and they're very receptive- anyone with a TV and decent eyesight had to see he was often talking and/or joking in the dugout with the young/new players, especially the young Latin ballplayers.

Who knows(?), time will tell if he (and the Yanks) continue in this capacity down the road.
Basically it seems Hal called him in, gave him the bottom line and suggested or asked him if this (press conference) would be a less embarrassing way to wrap this up.

They agreed on Friday vs T.B. because he wanted to play one last game at YS and the Yanks obviously will use it as opportunity to draw a crowd and kick off the weekend where they're honoring the 20th anniversary of the '96 team on Saturday and retiring Mariano's number on Sunday.

Looks like the Yanks were probably ready and willing to release him and eat his contract last year if he flopped in the early going/first half.
Obviously they weren't willing to eat the last 3-4 years of the contract.
Not many teams would do that even at the average rate.

Girardi said he'll play at Fenway.
And I hope he hits a couple HRs - fuck the Redsox and the segment of the Boston fans who are wannabe tough guy gold plated dooshbags with a chip on their shoulder.

And just for the record for the hell of it regarding the Varitek/Arod "fight".
Moments after Varitek sucker punched (face shoved) him, Arod had him locked up around the neck and was ready to manhandle and pummel "Tek" before the crowd jumped in and saved Varitek's fat ass.

Don't need any rose colored pinstriped homerific glasses to see this.
    Strictly 20-20 vision.
