You guys are ridiculous. Maybe you should learn something about Gilbert before you start bashing him, people either hate him or love him, and the people who love him who are not wiz fans still DOUBT HIM. Do you guys even knwo why he got so pissed off? He went overseas to play for his country and missed the birth of his daughter, what a payback to get cut from the team.....

And he talks trash as if he is the best scorer in the league. Wade averages 1 less point on way better perecntages. Kobe averages 1 less point on way better percentages. The only thing he does good is score and even that aint impressive. Tim legler of espn said we haven't seen this scoring output since jordan. Kobe just averaged 35ppg last year and in two other months averages 40 ppg. Arenas isn't doing anything incredible. The team record isn't amazing, they'e only a good seed because they're in the pathetic east.Imo, Arenas is what he is . A streaky gunner.</div>lol are you on crack?Don't talk about point per game averages:Arenas: 367 FT Attempts through 40 gamesWade: 376 FT attempts through 34 GAMES!kobe: 366 through 39 games. So don't even bring up wade at all. All the bogus calls he gets are why his PPG is so high. kobe's a better case but as I hate to admit, he's one of the top individual players in the league, higher than Arenas. The team isn't good because Arenas has no help. Butler and arguably Jamison are about all he has. The lakers are doing so well because they're been clicking. The Wizards aren't working out/meshing the same way.
Wizards are first in the East, although it's not much of an achievment, they should still be considered "good"

I mean what would you do in his posistion?Gilbert just needs some respect.</div>Oh yeah, sure... Gilbert Arenas is underrated and unrecognized? I guess being considered a MVP candidate means you're underrated and unrecognized? OK, he's been snubbed from Team USA, big deal. Allen Iverson was even more wrongfully snubbed, but you don't see him going around saying "I'm going to drop 50 points on this team, put the game on national TV damnit!" And if he had, people would be calling for his head, but no, not Arenas...He has the respect he deserves for his play so far this year, but he's going to lose it quickly if he keeps this kind of arrogant attitude and keeps making these cocky statements. He's already starting to lose my respect by pulling this crap. And GArenas, missing the birth of your daughter is definitely dedication, but that in itself does not mean he should have been given a spot on the team. Did he deserve a spot? Maybe... but they had their reasons to cut him... it's good that he's using that as motivation, but publicly calling out teams and coaches for cutting him is immature, and essentially he's putting his own personal agenda ahead of the team (in my opinion). OK, you got cut... grow up... stop complaining... deal with it... work harder and improve your game (which he has)... but don't publicly call out respected players, coaches and teams to try and prove your "worthiness," because it damn sure isn't helping you. I can honestly see this kind of behavior hurting his chances at joining Team USA next time around because he's exhibiting the type of behavior they don't want to have from players representing the country. Would you want a person like that representing the US? Nope, I wouldn't.

Gilbert Arenas is getting the respect he deserves for the way that he has been playing and the better he gets, the more respect he will receive. I can see him on team USA again because he deserves and he is definently not underrated anymore, considering he is being recognized as an MVP type calibur player.
I read his comment today about February's game against the Suns being important to him. Because that's probably his "next 50 point game." And babbles that TNT, ESPN need to broadcast the game for the moment. That to me is cocky, no matter how you want to spin it. Predicting when your going to put up a 50 point game and than saying a national television channel needs to broadcast it, I mean that's why I'll never get Arenas' attitude. He needs some maturing imo and learn how to conduct himself. Because this is not the first time he's made such comments. And I could care less about his achievements and team record wise that prohibit such behavior. Great players are more often than not, humble players.
You guys also don't realize that Gilbert is joking alot of the time, he's not that cocky. For god sakes he food poisoned the entire GSW team w/ donuts as a rookie . Of course these list was made at the beggining of the year and it ends after Feb. 11, he's serious because, again : he missed the birth of his child. Gil owns, deal with it.

Wow lol, you guys can end up hating him but you gotta realize that he's fu*kin joking around. People hate every superstar, just look at melo, everyone loved him before, look at LeBron, everyone has a reason to get angry at the superstars who are not their own teams superstar. No one is going to hate Gilbert Arenas the way they did Kobe, unless Gilbert goes into trial for allegedly sexually molesting a woman, which I highly doubt.

And this board has had it's share of LeBron hate already (as have I).

Impressive is averaging 31 ppg on 50% shooting. Impressive is averaging 35ppg on 45% shooting. Not bloody 29.7 points
no, hes just very proud of himself...and he should be. If he was cocky, he wouldnt always talk so good about Bron.
he's been cocky ever since he came into the league, as a second round pick. and that tells you something. He believes he's the best in the league, which can be a good thing when he's playing but it get's a little annoying.
I like Gilbert Arena's swagger. He wouldn't be near the player he is right now if he wasn't cocky about his game. He still feels the need to prove something every night he steps out on the floor and that's a good thing. He never stops challenging himself. I will have a problem with his cocky attitude when he starts freezing out other players on his team to achieve a personal goal, if he starts forcing stupid shots and not getting his teammates involved to make a point then it becomes an issue.
