What Consultant is worth 21 Mil??? What can A-Roid bring to the table, as an overpaid consultant, a decade of back to back X 10 W.S.???

No consultant is worth more than a mil or 2 or 3, even Jesus of Nazareth (walking on water), the miracle is not walking on water, its walking period....

The H&H Twins need to fold, and outright Sale...

"Heartaches are Heroes when their pockets are full"......my ass...!

You're missing the point Matts. 1) he is due that money, period. 2) by taking g this deal, he is freeing up a spot. 3) he is saving the yanks from a lump sum payout is he were released, likely hitting lux tax and other tax issues. 4) yanks getting extra month evaluate talent. And 5) they let him save face and that restores some of the classiness of this organization.

He was getting this $ 9 years ago, no point in bitching about it now.

If the Hemorrhoid Bros has any balls, they'd of paid him to stay at home this year, next too.....eat the contract instead of the crow fed them...

a 21 Mil Consultant? Part IV of "The Fraud" plays on....(violin please)...:guitar::piano: what's A-Roid gonna' bring to the table, as a consultant? Tell on juicers??????

If he rats out Big Sloppi and it sticks that would be worth the $21 mill.

...don't worry about Ortiz being outed...I mean after all he promised us 7 years ago that he “wanted to get to the bottom of this.”

    He added:

"I want to talk about this situation and I will as soon as I have more answers. In the meantime I want to let you know how I am approaching this situation. One, I have already contacted the Players Association to confirm if this report is true. I have just been told that the report is true. Based on the way I have lived my life, I am surprised to learn I tested positive. Two, I will find out what I tested positive for. And, three, based on whatever I learn, I will share this information with my club and the public. You know me – I will not hide and I will not make excuses."

...uhhh, OK Shrek, whatever you say.

...fwiw, i gotta believe that Tex's retirement announcement was somewhat scripted too. Wouldn't be surprised if management let him know ahead of time just as a courtesy that he would not be in their plans and would not be resigned for next year.

Tex' announcement was "scripted"(?), and the writing on the wall was pointed out to him (?)....omg.....
    ...let's give him 20 lashes....what a heel.
I hope the children weren't watching.

Wouldn't be surprised if Tex knew the Yanks had plans for Bird being the 1b next year and it wouldn't surprise me if he just wanted to pack it in and maybe in the future stick around in some capacity with the organization as he has hinted at a few times in the past and recently in an interview after announcing his retirement.
It also wouldn't surprise me if he knew there wouldn't be a "big market" for a FA who will be 37 yrs old next April and has played an averaged of 82 games per season the last four seasons to this point.

Hello everyone, thanks for being here.
My name is Mark Teixeira and I'm announcing my retirement because the Yankees have told me I'm not in their future plans. Personally speaking, I find it hard to believe the Yanks would NOT want me back after my 8 yr contract was up.
It really is a big surprise....and the Yanks don't even have any young players they would want to play at 1b.
So, instead of looking like some kind of phony fraud, I wanted to be just like everyone else and tell all of you the personal details and discussions involved.
    Thank you very much.
