Man who watched Portland cops for months arrested after arsenal of weapons found in car, police say

You could be suprised. I'm with Sly on this one, and I've stated it in another thread. Rather loudly too.

 

Funny. I didnt know what color he was nore did i bother to find out before forming my opinion. I began reading the thread and was going to post my opinion and the first point i realized his skin color was when you pointed it out. So who is racist? The guy that formed an opinion without even thinking about race, or the guy that immediately wanted to know what race he was?

You must have a pretty low opinion of us if you think the "prevailing notion" on this forum would change because he's black.

 

My wife and kids are safer with him and his arsenal OFF the streets, plain and simple.

So he did break a law. He was carrying a loaded firearm without a CCW.

I'm still not sure what the probable cause was though. Still, it definitely seems like this dude was planning something big. I'm glad that they stopped him, but I would prefer that they do so without violating his rights.

Without knowing what actually happened on the ground to tip the cops that they should take a keen interest in this guy, it's impossible to say whether or not they were justified in arresting this guy. Maybe they had an anonymous tip?

 

They outline it pretty clearly in the article I linked. He was sitting outside the same precinct filming and listening to police scanners. Every time they'd try to go talk to him, he'd run and they'd pull him over for a "traffic violation."

It got to the point where two cops were sitting outside his house, watching him. I mean, I think any reasonable person can recognize that this dude is full of shit. He was clearly up to something. I just don't want the police to go outside of the law to charge someone for a crime that they didn't commit.

 

I guess what I'm saying is that we have a narrative we've been given. Is it actually the truth? That's tough to say, because I'm not sure I trust the cops to tell it straight.

 

Hard to say. All they have to do is accuse him of terrorism and he'll disappear. I'm surprised they haven't gone that route yet.

I read a story or in this case was just reading others cliffs and the question doesnt even pop into my head. Like what does skin color have to do with anything? I felt like his rights were infringed upon but at the same time stupid people kind of deserve to get fucked sometimes. Sure, watch police all you want, but carrying an arsenal and avoiding talking to them is suspicious. Im all for gun rights, but there is a better way to make a point than stalking police during "black august"

 

All polices and corrections facilities are currently on alert because of the crazy people declaring they will kill as many cops as possible during "black august" you have rights, just dont be a fucking idiot.
