Re: The pathetic shower of undeserving praise and sympathy also known as Carmelo Anthony's return

Is anyone else a little taken aback by the aura surronding Carmelo's return? Maybe it was the over-joyed "He's baaaaack!" from the Denver PA announcer during Carmelo's introduction. Or how the crowd had their arms wide open and seemed almost sympathetic of his hiatus. It could be how Carmelo seems to think he can insult the intelligence of the Denver crowd by having his PR write up a cheesy apology letter in hopes of having everyone forget what he did and somehow love him more... and somehow it worked. It is what it is and this moment should not have ever been celebrated because it should not of ever happened. Carmelo should have shut up, the PA announcer should have shut up, and the fans should have smartened up. He should have come back with his tail between his legs until it blew over. Instead he almost seems victimized. He punched another player in the face and cost the Nuggets games in return. Why are people associated with the Nuggets naive enough to celebrate the end of the punishment given to their player who made a complete lapse in judgement and totally disregarded the well-being of the city and the team.Durr?

Playa pretty much summed it up right there.Unfortunately it's true, I totally agree with everything you said Mobruler, but that's the reality of it. I think Anthony's an over-rated gutless piece of sh*t, but I guess the majority of Denver would disagree with me.

^^ I disagreeI think Melo is highly underratedmost people figured he "wouldn't be as good as Lebron" but hes been greatjust because of something he did that didn't involve basketball but was just a mistake makes him overrated?nobody even really talked about Melo even though he was leading the league in scoring until the brawl

This doesn't have to do with how good of a player he is.And I guess the Iverson trade is somewhat relative, but I tend to think this would happen regardless of if Iverson was there or not.

Yeah what the hell? Overrated? Dude, if he was overrated, wouldn't he be getting more hype than Lebron? I mean he is so underrated, so many people think that he's not as good as Lebron or D-Wade but thats completlely false. Melo is a beast.

But to say that he is as good as Lebron or Dwyane Wade is sheer stupidity and incredible bias.

I guess AI was the second best player in the NBA last season then huh? Your an idiot. There's more to being a great player than ppg. Both players are more versatile and ahve proven to be better leaders.

How many times has he padded his stats during the game even though the game is out of reach? How many games does lebron look unintrested then in the 4th and down by 15+ does he decided to be agressive?Lebron this season has been All about STATS. He hasn't shown Any heart this season.

Any star player of a team, that comes back after missing for 10+ Games. In this case 15 games. Is going to get a standing ovation. NBA is a business, and you kids are forgetting that. Melo probably had the PA announcer write that up, to get his market back up, to his fans. It shows loyalty to team, to the state, and to the city. This was even elaborated to be such a higher return, because it was possibly one of the best duos of our time on paper. so instead of dissing on Melo, for the cheesy write up. It was a business move.

If Chauncey decked some guy and cost us a handful of games by getting suspended for a month in a playoff hopeful season, I'd be pretty pissed and wouldn't be glorifying him when he returned.
