If he can stay healthy and contribute 24+ minutes per game, it will be huge for us.

I thought the consensus was that the cost was so low his knees MUST be bad.

I believe he will be big for us and his 16 minutes a game was properly was 4 minutes at a time. That really hard any player to get some kind of rythem to be offense threat. I believe his offense will be better for us due to be out there longer stretches in the game.

It was a risk worth taking. If he's healthy enough to provide the kind of defense that he can then we will be fine.

It's a risk worth taking, in signing Ezeli. Being in a new environment, with a team that respects what he brings, will allow him thrive...expect him to have his best years here in ptown

One must confront one's fears not matter how obscene the word.

Sort of a misleading thread title question as the article doesn't really address it but rather talks about who he's been as a player. My take on the thread title question is that his knee questions and role player status on GS kept him outside of the initial targets that teams went after with their big capspace slots in FA. The Durant deal left GS with the capspace to offer him only what they gave Pachulia (3m per) so he had to find a new team. Portland was attractive in that they are an up and coming team with needs at the 5 and could give him a vastly superior contract to what GS could. While not top FA dollars, at least if he performs his deal will be up again soon. It was the best he could do.

    Voila! Welcome to PDX.

I ran into his agent in Multnohma village a few weeks ago. As he walked away I asked how Festus' knees were, he gave me the shoulder shrug and the 50/50 sign......

Lots of knee jerk reactions, we need more evidence.

I remember many posts here wanting Whiteside, Howard, Durant, etc.
Did anyone think realistically and advocate that we use our limited money on Ezeli?

STOMP did, apparently; in contrast, I advocated that we use our limited money on the less risky Cole Aldrich, who signed in Minnesota for 3 years instead of Ezeli's 2.
