I thought the forum needed a thread about him..I'm voting for him as a sort of safety valve vote and to add fuel to jumpstart the end of the two party system we've watched like a bad divorce case most of our adult lives. Johnson is pretty balanced, moderate and was a highly successful governor. Anything anyone can add to the thread about his positions or else, please do. Attached is a link I found about him. https://www.isidewith.com/candidate-guide/gary-johnson
Who? Never heard of him. If he was a real candidate I'd expect Denny to post constantly about him. barfo
He's the surprise candidate...the pinch hitter when the other two get ejected from the game for unsportsmanlike conduct
The reason I've really decided to vote against the status quo is that I can't win voting any other way anyway. I want the president to be civil, honest and follow through with their gameplan without stopping to argue along the way...
We've been presented with possibly the two worst candidates in our nation's history. 320 million people and this is the best we can do? Fuck me. I know Johnson won't win, but I feel like voting for him is a one of those baby-steps to breaking the the Republican-Democrat duopoly, and the façade that we live in a healthy, functional democratic republic. I'm just glad I don't live in a swing state.
George Washington was the last independent candidate to win the office...Ross Perot comes in at second place with a surprising surge to 19% in his bid. No presidential campaign has ever been as polarizing as this one....I dreaded a Clinton campaign...the GOP has decades of research into her public career...they didn't even have to do any this time...Trump is just a sad reflection of bad behavior...the ugly American tourist
I actually think it is really too bad that a leader would take the position that smoking pot is ok. " I have always maintained that legalizing marijuana will lead to less overall substance abuse because people will find marijuana as such a safer alternative than everything else that's out there — starting with alcohol. The campaign to legalize marijuana in Colorado was a campaign based on: Marijuana is safer than alcohol." http://www.ibtimes.com/marijuana-le...ohnson-explains-why-he-supports-legal-2383547 Safer is not the issue. Being able to fully function is the issue and people that regularly use pot can not. Nor can you get them to give it up because they are not functioning. It seems to me that his message to young people is a terrible message. I don't want his ass having a bigger horn to blow.
Marijuana is huge business legal or not....we spent billions of tax payer dollars prosecuting pot users and growers sending their kids on welfare and drying up what expendable income those folks had to shop with...legalizing it makes it taxable...abusing anything is bad....like sanding a boat without a carbon filter mask...not a good choice.
I don't smoke weed, but I know many adults that hold down high-level professional jobs and it has no affect whatsoever on their performance. I know far more people who are negatively impacted by their alcohol use/abuse. Marijauna should be regulated and taxed, but criminalizing it didn't stop people from smoking it or all of the negative consequences of it being classified as a schedule 1 narcotic (massive incarcerations, overcrowded prisons, a violent black market economy, etc.)
If I even bother to vote I'm probably voting for him, I'm not going to be party to either of the other two numb skulls.
Well in my view, using it is debilitating so using and abusing are the same. He was not one of my favorite writers, but I don't think that is what you had in mind? My experience is the opposite. Had to fire a couple because they could not get their design work done and would not give the shit up. Alcoholics can work sober and can be rehabilitated. Never works with pot users.
