Government regulations. Everything is a twisted version of what they should be. Products of government. http://www.truth-out.org/news/item/...r-the-diabetes-epidemic-time-to-change-course
I read your link, it doesn't at all say what you seem to think it does. The problem wasn't the government guidelines, the problem was that people didn't actually follow the government guidelines (helped along by the food industry, of course). barfo
When you have politicians who are paid off by lobbyists from corporations who do you blame? You @Denny blame government and have no qualms about these corporations who pay no taxes, rape our planet of resources, and are the REAL ones who have control of our lives (banks). What came 1st the chicken or the egg? Corporations are ran like dictatorships. You can vote government out. Good luck doing that to CEO. To ATTEMPT to have some sort of control over them you actually suggest I should invest in them (buy a share) to start a movement to vote the CEO out... GTFO.
I'm guilty of that when it comes to Dick Cheney and Haliburton...sometimes dviss...they are one and the same
Regulations? I don't see where the government has regulated your fat intake. You are free to be Jack Spratt's wife if you want to be. What you are complaining about is advice, not regulations. barfo
This is exactly what I'm saying above. For FREE I can vote against Cheney. I have to PAY to vote Monsanto out.
Here you are, obese. Odds are, anyway. Not me, I don't eat carbs. The government food pyramid is poison. Mrs. Obama's dietary program is harmful. Have a look. It's not that people aren't eating to the recommendations, the obesity epidemic is because people are. http://www.cnpp.usda.gov/sites/default/files/archived_projects/FGPPamphlet.pdf
So, give government more power and corporations more incentive to lobby? That's insanity, by definition. You're not making a very good argument here. http://www.wsj.com/articles/social-...ency-over-20-years-trustees-report-1466605893 Money grows on trees!
America....where you are free to eat yourself to death anytime you want.....drink a lifetime's supply of soda pop, eat a mountain of sugar a month...hunt wild boar with a butter knife and eat their still beating heart with your filed teeth...take your pick.....maybe diet isn't the culprit...maybe it's that these folks don't walk anywhere....watch too much tv and drive their cars one block to get another big gulp....fat guilt is selling a lot of books.
You would think so. But run 3 miles and eat a candy bar. All that exercise benefit used up. It's quite silly to fight obesity with exercise. You fight it by eating foods that aren't readily converted to fat. Or if you believe the Taubes guy in the article, by eating foods that don't spike your insulin because insulin is a driving enzyme for fat storage.
Dude, I looked at your last link, it totally didn't say what you were claiming. It's not an issue I give a shit about. I think you are just looking for an excuse to eat fat. Go ahead, no one is stopping you. No one is forcing you to eat carbs. No one is forcing you to drink soda pop. barfo
Government regulates food safety, but it does not regulate the amount of fat you consume. You are free to have a diet of 100% bacon fat, should you so desire. barfo
My family has never suffered from obesity. Wife and son both have almost zero percent body fat...both eat carbs but healthy foods...garden veggies, local fish, etc and we all exercise..daily walks, tennis, yoga, etc....we're not getting fat or losing benefits if I have an almond joy after an afternoon of tennis...it requires balance and not eating carbs does not make you break a sweat or get the endorphins going....it's for people who've already fucked themselves up to lose weight that carb free diets are great but you're wrong that exercise is not more beneficial...
It absolutely said what I think it does. The government set standards, the food industry complies by producing food that fits the food pyramid. Since inception of the government recommendations, the incidence of obesity has skyrocketed.
It regulates through pricing, making laws about labeling, and making a lot of noise about health risks. They also feed the kids in schools. The results are obesity epidemic.
