for the first time in a long time. We have one of top 3 goalie pools in hockey IMO with Shesterkin, Halverson and Huska. To show you what Rangers haters and hacks HF is they state we don't have a future number 1 goalie in the system. Please. We potentially have 3. All of those three are outstanding talents. Halverson is really starting to take off. His junior team was awful and he stood on his head to win a round for them and kept them in it vs. one of the top 2 teams in the OHL. Huska was insanely good at the WJC on an embarrassing team and blew Allaire away with his play at camp.

That's good because you have an 8.5 million dollar backup until 2020 then! Good luck moving that contract

Lundqvist won't ever be a backup but the prospects will be 25 before they get the full-time job. Once his contract is up i can see him retiring rather than stretching things out like Brodeur did.

When your the greatest of all time you can stretch it a year or two. Esp making the finals at what age 39? Ok he won't be a backup he will just be a 40 year old making 8.5 million.

Yet kreidertime thinks the Devils should move Cory who's 30 with a 5 million cap hit and hasn't played 65 games in a season yet.

Yeah, dipshit is too dumb to realize by the time the Devils actually get close to doing their rebuild if they actually can do it, Schneider will be 36. Schneider is not young. He'll be 31 in March. Lundqvist will be 35 in March. I don't see the Devils doing anything for the next 5 years. They have absolutely no defenseman in their system worth shit.

Go see my post in the vesey thread about the "horrible" defense the Devils have lol but I'm sure you read it and just forgot to reply.

Honestly you can't even compare the two goalies. Cory has only played in 280 games! Hitting over 60 games once! Henrik at the same point in his career played 580 games. That's not even factoring in Olympic international or playoff games.

So even if the Devils are only competitive in five years Cory will still be a stellar goalie on a cheap ass cap hit.

Schneider's 69W-71L as the Devils goaltender after going 55W-26L in Vancouver isn't exactly encouraging.

He's a really good goaltender right now. However, he won't be when they are ready to contend.

I also don't agree our prospects will 25 when Lundqvist is done. IMO, he started getting old fast last year. I know the defense sucked but he's played a ton of hockey. I don't see him playing past 37.
