Now down 8-6 and what will be a terrible loss. Adam Warren is another one who has stunk all season. Just serving up batting practice to power hitters.

Granted Swarzak fucked up his turn but if Headley had made that play instead of an error things may have turned out different. Pineda was pitching well but he's had bad habit of shitting the bed. Granted the Yankees have some new and talented position players, but the starters Tanaka Excepted are flakey and there are many bad apples in the pen. They Yankees are not playoff bound again this year so take it one game at a time. They still have some overhauling to do.

I guess it would've been asking too much to keep Ben Heller here after they called him up for one day.
We see Swarzak implode in the 6th.....now Girardi has to again go to Warren who pitched last night to start the 7th....
.....now Warren is struggling, the guy has been outstanding since he got here but for crissakes he's bound to have a rough outing.

Heller by all accounts and by his AAA numbers is a legitimate late inning power strikeout pitcher.
Why can't the Yanks keep him on the team and use him in a couple of situations and take some of the workload instead of the recycled gas cans?

They called him up a few days ago along with Cessa....
...it turns out he was only here in case of an "emergency" and was kicked back down the next day while the Yanks kept Cessa.

I'm beginning to get annoyed.....very annoyed.

Outside of a couple of guys Betances and Clippard this bullpen absolutely stink at this point. Not shocking after they traded Miller and Chapman. It certainly something that will need to be addressed.

Like I said. He looked good since coming back but Warren has pretty much stunk all year.

Shreve looks like his usual gascan self. Agree 5545 with you and thats why austin needs to be in there everyday if not for tex then hicks or headley. I am starting to hate girardi

I'm not sure what everyone expected. The kids can certainly add punch to the lineup but it didn't suddenly solve everything. That said this bullpen performance has been one of the worst you could possibly ever see.

    2.1 innings 1o runs 9 hits 3 Walks

Just disgusting but at least it snaps things back into reality.

Looks like the entire pen has shait the bed this evening. I got bad vibes when that rain delay hit because I figured the pen would be in it and too God Damn early. Problem with Toronto is that they can mash and when runners get on we've seen the results.

I hear you mess but while were at it why the hell was heller and his 98mph fastball sent back down instead of demoting or cutting shrove and a couple of others. From up 6 to down 6 in 2 innings. LOL

The rain delay killed them but it doesn't excuse what pieces of shit these bullpen arms are.

Bad decisions and not moving on from people they really should move on from. They keep love affairs with guys who show nothing anytime they're out there.

The Yankees should just give Tex his money and let him go. Essentially they are paying him for nothing right now, an auto out taking up a roster spot. I'd have to think the Yankees are awaiting the September call ups, can't get here fast enough.

Like I said tonight was just reality coming back to smack everyone. The kids are nice to see but they weren't carrying this team to the playoffs. the lineup mostly still stinks, that starters aren't great and obviously the bullpen is a disaster. Mediocrity around the league and an extra wild card just fools you sometimes. Sure, if the rain delay doesn't happen Pineda most likely gets them to the 8th but the rain delay happening exposed this group for what they are.

Well, this is the team which HAS owned the Yanks for the past two seasons.....Toronto continues to have a ball at the Yanks' expense.

After tonight's debacle...I almost feel ridiculous talking about winning tomorrow and taking two out of three. (chuckle)

Okay, let's get them tomorrow and take this series.

Why would you ever feel ridiculous winning a series?

    Pitching.
Yanks scored 6 runs tonight...if they allowed five runs, they win.
We know the team is rebuilding but with the exception of Green, the "rebuilding" is being done with everyday players in the lineup and not addressing the pitching staff.
Every aspect of the pitching staff if still very much in the air.
Having Eovaldi out and probably gone is a godsend which will force the Yanks to add at least two more SP to the mix.
Personally I would prefer Betances not being the closer but I guess I can live with it.

Warren will not and should not be the 8th inning guy, he'll be the 6/7 inning pitcher and available for long relief and spot starter.

After tonight's game, one would think (AND HOPE) the Yanks will make one or two roster moves regarding the bullpen.

I never feel ridiculous winning a series, I was just reflecting on how Toronto has owned and often bashed the Yanks up to this point since last year....and the "thought" of winning a series from them (at this pount) is kinda.....ridiculous.
    Okay, was a bad joke.
Yanks have managed to win just one series from them since 2015.....and it wasn't this season.

Help in 2016 will have to come from the farm. There's also guys who should be released. I don't want to see Swarzak anymore.
