Pretty interesting and frank analysis devoid of the usual demagoguery you get when you hear people attempt to talk about this topic.

I haven't listened to this episode yet, but I listen to most of waking up pods. It seems like you and I listen to many of the same podcasts. What other favorites do you have?

Thank you for posting this message.

I agree with everything Harris said.

Too few people are listening to what the Jihadists say they want. And why and how they rationalize their criminal actions as being a religious mission. They are fighting a religious war which they believe they can not lose.

The Jihadists message and actions has been the same for 1400 years. The best any military action against them has been able to do over those many centuries is to get the Jihadist to accept a temporary truce. They are not even close to accepting a temporary truce at this time.

I listen to all kinds of things (podcasts and youtube regular broadcasts) to get a broad cross section of opinions (even people I find kind of disagreeable)
    -Adam Carolla (Occasionally)
    -Joe Rogan
    -Joey Diaz
    -Penn Jillette
    -Sam Harris
-Dan Carlin (Common Sense and Hardcore History)
-Bill Simmons (and a variety of sports related podcasts)
    -The Rubin Report
    -Nick Gillespie

There's others and there are many ebbs and flows to that list.

I have not listen to it all, but there is nothing to disagree with so far. I matches my understanding from studying religion and experience with Muslims.

Which is why Harris argues strenuously about supporting Islamic reformers and moderates (like Maajid Nawaz, et al.)

And I think Trump will do this. Obama and Clinton never will.

nice list. I haven't heard The Rubin Report or Nick Gillespie, so I'll check those out. I listen to all the rest, but gave up on the Carolla show some time back.

    Ones I often listen to:
    Sam Harris
    Sunday School
HH and CS with Dan Carlin
    Bill Simmons off and on
    Joe Rogan
    Fighter and the Kid
    FiveThirtyEight Elections
    Radiolab
    and sometimes History on Fire.

Occasionally listen to Duncan Trussle, Joey Diaz, Your Moms house and Bill Burr.

The Rubin Report I watch on youtube (long form interviews with an interesting slate of guests), Nick Gillespie does a lot of work for Reason.com and also does a lot of interviews that get posted to Youtube.

But who am I kidding? The only thing I watch or listen to that actually matters is Red Letter Media.
