Actually, watching this Olympics is interesting because of the decline of previous giants like Argentina and the emergence of teams like Australia.

    Bright future:
    Croatia
    Australia

    Chugging along, transitioning nicely:
    Lithuania
    Serbia

    Best days are behind them:
    Argentina
Spain (still good, but they'll really miss the Gasols, Navarro and Reyes)
France (hard to tell: if they build around Gobert, maybe they'll be okay, but Parker just retired)

Let's see if the semi final will be like the 2006 one. Feels like a loss is coming and Spain seems to be in great shape after their slow start.

    You're right, my bad.

Still got Llull, though, right? And Luka Doncic is a star of the future.

Ginobili starting to cry. I can't watch. Last international game for him and Parker on the same day. Seems appropriate.

    (Maybe Diaw too.)

Yes Doncic is the one to watch, amazing potential. But still they preferred to sign Draper instead of bringing back Campazzo which I don't really get.

Not necessarily. Some players are just different at club and national level. International Carmelo >> Knicks Carmelo. Kenneth Faried looked like USA's co-MVP last time and Denver would probably dump him for a first rounder.

Forgot about Draper. He's a better player in many respects. It's like George Hill vs. Barea.

I do not believe this. I think this is a lot more to do with Coach K not knowing what to do with him. Steve Kerr is a better coach than he is given credit for.

Nocioni sure is a whiny little bitch. I'm surprised he doesn't play for the Clippers.

Draymond just isn't that good. Average scorer, average rebounder, very overrated playmaker.

Ahhh the passion for club or country..... can't beat it.

Don't think Higuain feels that way after the Copa though.

Not necessary, sure, but the benefit to the quote is that it provides an alert to the poster you are quoting. It allows for greater immediacy in response.

Am I the only one here who is hoping that Spain beats the US? I would love nothing more than this team come home without a gold or silver metal.

Nic Batum pulled a real Houdini of a vanishing act in the Spain/France game. No points in 18 minutes and a -16 plus/minus. I've got to say that I don't miss his consistent inconsistency.
