    This.

Very popular IN PORTLAND. Seemed to be well respected around the league by other professionals. This move seems to have been made to garner a better interest from Seattle. Now it's Paul Allen's right to run his business how he wants, and if he wants to expand popularity north or south or east or to fucking Hawaii by getting a broadcaster with huge ties to the area, so he it.

Just don't insult the good people of Portland and say it's for anything other than that. I would guess 95% of the 55% that were privileged enough to get to watch the Blazers, love the Mikes.

With my right hand on my Blazer coffee table book, I swear that if they hire PJ and his east coast douchebag accent I'll never watch another game.

And from a purely business standpoint, this would seem to be a brilliant move to fill the NBA vacuum that exists in Seattle. There are kids growing up right now that never experienced the Sonics. Paul Allen has the opportunity to blitz the Seattle area with Blazer programming and exposure with well-known ex-Sonic broadcasters and gain an entire generation of potential fans. To make the Blazers truly a NORTHWEST team, not just a Portland team.

Only way we'll start getting the benefit of calls on our side is if we up our viewership.

If the kids had never seen a Sonics broadcast, why would it be beneficial to bring someone in that has Sonics ties though?

We need more parental teaching. Not just for sports but in general. Parents rely too much on our broken educational system to educate their children. In my opinion, the number one responsibility of a parent is to properly educate and prepare their children for this world... in all facets of it.

So we can start by educating our children about our sports fandom. Especially parents of children in Seattle. ;)

Child: "Dad, what is a Sonic?"
Father: "Well Son.. Contrary to your video game addicted friends, A sonic is not actually a hedgehog, but the mascott for our one time basketball team that the NBA screwed us out of. You know your second favorite player KD? He was drafted by the Sonics... ETC. "

Child: "So who do we root for now?"
Father: "Rip City. Fuck the sonics"

    It's probably a good thing I don't have children.

Our traffic is damn near as bad. My average commute time from Tualatin to Mall 205 is 75 minutes no matter which route I take. This is aprox a 25 mile trip. Some days it takes me cloer to two hours.

Quoting thing is still not working FYI @SlyPokerDog @Denny Crane

Anytime I want to do a second quote, it will not show up without leaving and coming back. I then did this and it still quoted an old quote, not the most recent I had just selected. The above post can be deleted. :)
