In the Greater Washington area "Gilbertology" is the name given to his often bizarre behavior on and off the court[9], first coined by Wizards head coach Eddie Jordan. After being commented for shooting too much as a point guard, Arenas would play games nearly without shooting at all, and then score at will the next game. Arenas admits that he thrives under criticism, using jersey number "0" because he was told that he would get 0 minutes on the floor for his former team.Use this thread to post all the crazy things Gilber Arenas does...- While with the Warriors, he once took a shower at half time in full uniform- Before every game he would take a teammate's jersey and hide it in the locker room to make them look for it. - Arenas can often be seen playing online poker during half-time of games, instead of resting or preparing for the second half.- On road trips, he will often eschew team outings on the town in favor of sitting in his room, ordering products from infomercials, such as a colon cleanser.- In the same interview he said he preferred sleeping on the couch than on his bed, and that he once ate 12 cheeseburgers while on a road trip with the Wizards in Canada.- During the 2003-04 season, Arenas tried to vote himself into the All Star game, trading a pair of shoes and a jersey for a box of ballots- At the Wizards' first home game of the 2006-2007 season (November 4), during the introductions, Arenas came out wearing a blue robe with a hood, looking like a boxer. He was supposed to resemble a "wizard."- During the 2006 NBA season, he began to shout the word hibachi as he took field goal attempts in games, explaining, "You know, a hibachi grill gets real hot. That's what my shot's like, so I've been calling it that: 'Welcome to the hibachi'." He has also stated that while he is scoring on opponents, he is "cooking chicken and shrimp" in reference to his "Hibachi grill," and that if his opponent wanted to double team him, he would "cook filet mignon" as well.- Arenas wears size 13 sneakers on the court even though his feet are size 14?.You gotta love this guy.

Are those true? Because the colon cleanser thing is a bit weird. I don't see how those make you love him. Some of those make him come off immature and a baby.Oh, you don't like me taking shots, well how about I take none. How about that. Voting himself into the All-Star game lol. Hiding jerseys?

Yeah forget the biggest one. When in Golden State, he stole one of his teammates (I dont remember which one) jersey by breaking into his house and wore it in the plane ride the next day.

An average Gil/Wiz fan knows those already. You're missing some more. When he was a rookie in GSW, they used to make him get donuts with his own money. He once got tired of it, and one day, put some baby powder and licked some of the donuts. Figure out the rest. Another one was he did something to former teammate Awvee Storey's car. I forgot what he did.And if you didn't notice, when losing games at halftime, he'd come back out at the second half with new Gil zeros. And they'd often win the game, he did it against the Knicks last week. And the biggest one IMO, (similar to the Shower thing in his GSW days) was during the playoffs last season against the Cavs. We were down at Halftime by double digits. He changed his whole Uni. The jersey, shorts, socks, shoes, protective pads, everything. And he scored 20 points at 4th quarter, and we won the game. Game 2 I think. There's a lot more, just can't think of anything ATM. Maybe we need to sticky this, for future purposes. Lol, that's what a lot of people like him you know. He's always wierd. I don't know why he's like that, My homeboi whose also an only child be actin wierd all the time. He always doing something to get noticed. My guess is because he and gil is often lonely, with no siblings to play with. He's not a prankster though, like Gilbert.

Yeah, game 4, thanks. I don't recall that one against the rockets though. Him doing stuff like this, is like normal to me now. You get so much used to it. That "My Swag was phenomenal" stuff was funny as sh*t though. I still laugh about it everytime I see that Mix Gilbertology.net made.EDIT: Another one is that he's always the last one to get to the court when the game is about to start. Kind of a superstition thing he believes in.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>And the pregame superstitions such as always eating a meal from Boston Market, parking his car in the same spot, listening to the same music in the same order and tickling Jamison's armpit before the opening tip-off. Not to mention his habit of showing up at MCI Center for late-night workouts, rather than sleeping in and risking someone else outworking him.</div>No wonder Jamison is always soft.

He's obviously insecure, and he has some issues. Try not to be so hard on him. I would call him quirky.

Never knew that Arenas was like that, but It's good to learn the personality of other NBA superstars. But it seems kinda weird what he does though when you don't expect a young grown man to do.

I think my favorite was when Arenas flicked off the Celtics bench last season after making a big shot...few plays later Pierce drained a 3 in his face to win the game. That was my favorite "gilbertology" moment. I don't really care for Arenas but he is unbelievable and this season proved he is a bonified superstar in this league.

Wow those are some pretty interesting facts for such a good player, seems like he is a little bit of a weirdo or maybe just superstitious.

One that is incredibly annoying and stupid and one that even though it's childish is still funy. Gilbert fits under the second category. I don't see how you can't love his quirky personality.
