Gordon is good but erratic, by letting him go and getting Pau you get a consistant guy. CONSISTANCY counts for a lot! I love Ben but one night he can get you 30 and a buzzer beater and the next he can go for 12point and 6 turnovers. Good trade for both teams- Good for Griz because Pau wants out, and the Bulls get some more consistancy!
Not to mention that we will want a decent outside shooter to go with Gasol, and Gordon and Gasol would most likely mean a much better team, and an extended playoff run.

So its easier for the Pistons to win the East.</div>easier???Right now we are in a three way tie, so I would not be so confident, especially with the Cavs in the mix as well.
It all really depends on the matchups really, but if the Heat dont win it with Shaq then the Pistons are the favored.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>He is having an off year and nobody is untouchable on this team, NOBODY!</div>how is Hinrich having an off year? He's averaging the same points as last season, same assists, and same steals. He's also shooting better from regular and 3PT FG's. If anything, he's having a better year.
im tellin you some people want to much from kirk. He did a good job VS wade last nite. If we trade kirk watch him get about 4 more PPG. On the bulls he isnt the goto guy. Cause kirk can score. DO SOME PEOPLE 4GET WHAT KIRK DOES IN THE PLAYOFFS???????????????????????come on he has to stay. I also think paxson isnt gonna trade gordon now. I mean look at this kid and hes only getting better.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I think Hinrich hasnt played to his potential this season.</div>what evidence do you have?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (WELCOMEtotheJUNGLE @ Jan 28 2007, 08:29 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>what evidence do you have?</div>Well considering his stats so far aren't even up to what he did last year, http://www.realgm.com/src_playerfile.php?playerid=835 you expect a player to gradually increase as he gets more experience but Kirk has been wildly eratic this season and maybe its from playing in those games this summer I dont know nor does anyone else that thinks they do.I realize stats don't necessarily tell the whole story, like Kirk's intangables, he is a tremendous defender and is underated in that category. By guarding the team's best backcourt player every game, its going to hurt your scoring. Right now he is at 15.3 ppg which is 0.5 points behind what he did last year. We still have more than a half a season to go and I believe he can improve in all areas of his game but he has to go out there and prove it. Trading Hinrich doesn't mean our problems will be solved even with Gasol. We would be looking for a point guard and we all know Duhon is inept of doing this and Thabo really isn't ready to start at point guard. Unfortuanetly we all look at Kirk like he is suppose to be a superstar player because we look at his contract similar to Chandler's the year before. When someone gets paid ALOT of money, your expected to do very well, thats just reality and the world we live in today.
I just think some of the bulls fans are making too big a deal about Hinrich not playing "up to his potential". He's a great defender, can score 15 a night, dish 6 assists, make steals, and grab a few rebounds. Bulls fans should be thankful they have a point guard like Hinrich. I would trade half of the boston celtics for Kirk Hinrich.
Kirk is a very underated player, he should have been 2nd team all defense last year but the overated Dwyane Wade got it.

Did ballaholic tell you that?Dwade can play better D IMO but he doesn't do it night in and night out. If you dont believe me, watch when someone steals the ball from him and see what he does on the diffensive end.

I sware alls I see Wade do is block a few shots into the bleachers and fall down every damn time to make himself look good. He is a horrible on the ball defender who lets his opponent drive to the lane and then Wade backs off waiting for a fastbreak oppurtunity. His athletiscm is the reason he gets these achievments for defense, its not even close when you compare him to Kirk though minus the athletiscm. Hinrich is significantly better on the ball and just as good if not better off the ball. Like I said in a previous post, by guarding the teams best player it takes a toll on his offense. Just think about it, Wade on occasions guards the teams best backcourt player but you rarely see him put as much effort into his defense as Hinrich does. If Hinrich plays HALF the level of defense he does, this team would be losing more games than there winning without question.

You got no valid argument. Wade is a better defender when he actually tries. Watch Wade against players like Lebron and youll know what I mean.
As I was saying, IMO Kirk Hinrich is a better defender than Dwyane Wade but he never gets credit for it for what reason? I dont know. I believe Hinrich has done a terrific job over his career defensively against Wade especially in last years playoffs where he shot a pretty low shooting % in that round and more recently last Saturday Wade had 22 or 24 points and shot below 47%. Not too mention the lack of respect Kirk gets is rather obvious. I can't tell you how many times he gets called for a blocking foul off of a screen trying to fight through it or guarding the paint from the incoming driver, its just ridiculous, and if you watch alot of Bulls games you would see what I mean. I dont know what it is but Kirk has been in the league for 4 years now, you'd think the referees would show him some respect and stop getting rookie calls. While this may seem like it has nothing to do with defense, it really does. Alot of times he gets in foul trouble early and gets out of the flow of the game, Wade gets that respect from officials and he plays 40 mpg compared to Kirks 34 mpg.
