Well in high school it was a big mix. In Oklahoma there is no stationed team. All kinds of people from different states. So there wasnt a main team. Hornets now, but everyone already has their favorites. Same thing with college its a mix. Oklahoma really isnt a big basketball state...only any level high school, college, and pro. Theres really not many NBA fans here. The black people here dont watch it, they just buy their jerseys and like the typical stars. NCCA football is the real deal here
For the NBA, there not many people who watch it. Most of the people at my lunch table support the Celtics while only 1 supports the Heat. For college basketball, one supports Florida, one supports LSU etc. But we mainly talk about football.
People at my school mainly like players. They don't have a favorite team. There's some Pacers fans, there's a Celtics fan I know, but mainly because of Rondo.
Haha wow lmao @ how far my school has fallen. I'll never forget in '05 when we lost to the Pacers and everyone had playoff fever. Today some kid in my economics class asked me "what the hells with the Celtics shirt and shorts today dude." I didn't even get to respond when my teacher said "he's not a bandwagon fan like everyone else in this school."I felt so special.
Let's see:Los Angeles Lakers: Too many fans to count. That's what happens when you live in Southern California.Los Angeles Clippers: I know two guys, who are both twins by the way, who love the Clippers. Ever since I've known the two (Freshman year), the two have been in love with Elton Brand and Corey Maggette.New Jersey Nets: Me... :winkglasses:Cleveland Cavaliers: Only one guy. This guy doesn't really like the team as a whole, just a couple of players. He always wears LeBron James' jerseys. I think the few guys he admires off of the Cavs' roster are LeBron James, Damon Jones and Larry Hughes.Gilbert Arenas: There are three kids, whom I hardly speak to, in my AP US History class. These three guys do nothing but speak about Gilbert Arenas in their free time. When Agent 0 hit those two buzzer beaters a couple of weeks ago, these three guys raved on and on about how Gilbert is the greatest player in the league right now.Kobe Bryant: Well, all the Lakers' fans fall in this category, I guess. However, there is one guy who loves Kobe. He's on the Varsity basketball team at my school. He tries to play like Kobe, too. He does those fade away jumpers that Kobe always does. However, unlike Kobe, this dude just can't get on fire... at all!Houston Rockets & Sacramento Kings: One guy. He loves both teams. If the Rockets win, he wears a Tracy McGrady jersey or Yao Ming Western All-Star jersey. When the Kings win, he wears a Mike Bibby jersey and a very old and faded Chris Webber jersey. When both teams win, he wears any one of those jerseys. When both teams lose, he wears plain clothes.. Maybe that's the reason why he hardly wears his jerseys. :g:
We have a couple fans in my grade..and they talk about basketball everyday, and stuff..and I just sit there and im like..wow yall are dumb..we dont have many NBA fans at my school..
I haven't been in highschool for 30 years, but at work...sh*t. I got an intern who is a huge Suns fan. He had the last laugh after last years playoffs but, I always remind him that the Lakers have 14 NBA Championships and the Suns...well, have none.
