I too had the dang gout. The thing I finally found that was causing the problem, was bread (yeast). Had to cut that way back. And do the Allopurinal, but I only need 150 mgs every other day. Uric acid levels in the blood are staying below the gout level fine now. An occasional Subway sandwich or a beer infrequently are ok now.
I think the amount of alcohol. Alcohol with food, is mostly alcohol some food, alcohol with food is balanced portion of both. Thats take anyway.
I like a cold brewski with my food, especially steak/ barbeque. Or sometimes wine, especially with pasta and some freshly baked French bread
I tried a couple heavier brews during dinner at the Schmizza House recently, and when I ordered a Coors Light, the bartender said, "time to re-hydrate, huh?"
