Headley has become a terrible 3bman.
He played the run-down poorly allowing Donaldson to make it all the way around to 2nd base now in scoring position with one out. He didn't run Travis further enough back to 2nd base forcing Gregorius to make the extra throw to Sevy covering 3rd base.

Severino got out of trouble by striking out Bautista. Nice job by Sevy.

Headley's bad contract is one thing, but this guy forgot how to play 3d base.
    Jeez

^^^ Yeah, and luckily the Jays are taking a page out of the Ynax offensive playbook...they are now 0-8 with RISP.

    Yankees challenge the call successfully.
Two outs, runner on 3rd......good challenge attempt by Yanks- worth a try, and they got the call.
....Sevy closes out the inning with 100 MPH heater.
He simply looks like a different pitcher out of the bullpen- kinda dominating.
The Yanks may reconsider his future roll and to be honest, if he continues to be great as a reliever I won't criticize them for it. And he has been consistently excellent when he works out of the pen.

Yanks may be back on track to have the formula for shortening games.

    Here we go- buckle down.
This game has turned into a two inning game with the opportunity for the Yanks to gain a game on three teams ahead of them- Balt, Detroit and Toronto.

WTF is going on? Where did Sevy go?
Why not send Sevy to start the 9th and at least go one batter at a time?

    I DON'T LIKE IT.

Girardi is playing with fire. He removed a pitcher who was dominant and hadn't allowed a hard hit ball in his last inning in favor of a reliever who is not a closer.

Ballgame over, Yankees win, tthhheeee Yankees WIN!

Sweet sweep....never would of figured 2 runs would be enough to win this game.

And I'd like to give Girardi a kick in the ass for over managing by pulling Severino after the 8th inning.

Yanks pick up a game on Baltimore, Detroit and Toronto and if this team has ONE decent winning streak in them, now is the time.

Giradi managed this game well, Mitchell to Severino worked well, and you knew Clippard was going to come in with Dellin unavailable. Pedro Gomez made a comment on Joe Girardi management abaility today. He took an 8-17 team staffed with Prima Donnas, slackers, went through a huge amount of change. Now he's got hungry newbies whom he hardly knows yet had cultivated a winning formula. Yes he does shit that will blow your mind sometimes but the man is 20 flight. I like what he is doing with this team.

Have to keep it going against Tampa. Four game series at home against a last place team. Tampa can give them fits but there's no excuse if this is for real.

Tampa will be facing a much different Yankee Team than that group that got swept at Tropicana. That being said the Yankees need to keep kicking butt during this home stand.

They have to take at least 3 out of 4 against the Rays to keep pace with the other teams.
