    From a RealGM poster:

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Doc just spoke on Dennis an Calahan show.

They kept pressuring him about the fact that Philly an Memphis won last night an how great it would be to get Oden.

Doc stated, seemed optimistic about that option, but was carefull about choosing his words.

He said Al was down on himself for "letting the team down" by getting injured.

He said he told Sebastion "I haven't forgoten about you. Your behind two guys now, you need to work, an you will succeed. You had opportunity at beginning of year, an didn't take advantage of it", an how Telfair was very receptive.

Apparently, Pierce is a gym rat, an even though they will milk the injury he's been seen in the gym late at night shooting shots.

Doc said, his friend kept calling him an bothering him about Oden's stats, an how we are almost the worst team in the league at this point. Doc said he ignored him, but obviously still likes the thought.

He said he doesn't want to instill a loosing environment an

key question was "do u think its better for a young guy to sit all season on a winning team, or get alot of minutes on a loosing team"

he picked the first, an explained, its not about stats, but about getting a winnning atitude, understanding all the little things of how to win.

    That was about it.

    add -

They also asked him if he would play Oden an Al J together

An Doc said that would be a definate. One would be the defensive spealist an blocker, the other an offensive guy.

On Jefferson injury he said JEFFERSON WOULD NOT PLAY on friday, but after that anybodys guess.</div>
OK, well first of all, I am PISSED that Al got hurt... again. I can't believe he sprained his ankle... again. It's just so unfortunate that Al has to go through this while he's playing the best basketball of his life. But my question is, who do we start tomorrow if Wally sits out? Do we move Delonte to the 2 and start Rondo? I'd like that.

Second of all, it's very interesting that they'd talk so much about Oden at this point. For example, if Doc truly was milking the Oden conversation and being careful with his words, why would be even bring up the fact that his friend tells him his stats? Doc says he ignores it, but I doubt it.

However, that's not a giant problem with me, because if we could somehow come away with a C/PF combo of Greg Oden and Al Jefferson, I would piss myself in excitement.

Right now the Celts are the worst team in the worst division of the league. Talk of a potential #1 pick is logical, although it's not 100% certain that Doc will be around next year to enjoy that player. You have to draft Oden #1 because great big men don't come around very often. Even if the Celts end up with the worst record there's no gaurantee they'll get the #1 pick, but even Kevin Durant or Johakim Noah would improve this team greatly.

Yeah don't sleep on Brendan Wright either. The kid is an absolute freak and he has a boatload of potential. A future frontcourt of Big Al paired with either Oden, Wright, or Noah is just beautiful to think about.

Not to mention Rondo and role players like Gomes, Delonte, Perk, and maybe Powe. Gerald Green could become something special. Tony Allen would have been if he didn't total his knee. We have a very bright future, so I'm remaining patient. We could potentially have a hell of a team come 2009.

I was thinking about the prospects of having Oden the other day as well (OBVIOUSLY daydreaming during school... I stress the "dreaming"). Oden, Jefferson, Perk, Gomes, Scal and Powe would be a very very good front line. Rondo, West, Telfair (2 of those 3), Pierce, Allen, Gerald, Ray would be a very nice compliment of guards and wing players. Oden would make us instant contenders.
