I haven't done any research, but is it true that BT headphone sound isn't 'as good' as the wired? Or are people just saying that without evidence?
It's about transferring data. Wireless is not as good as a hard line. That's true of any data. So if you're listening to music, and you're a true music connoisseur, then you're going to want a hard line because it will be able to transfer more information at a faster rate. In this case, music = information.
But if BT transfer rates supports loss-less data transfer codec then there is no gripe. So really it comes down to how fast BT transfers data and if it really is down sampling and its codec.
Probably not. I'm not willing to spend the money on a really nice pair of headphones, or on bluetooth earbuds for that matter. For me it's about the inability to charge/listen to music. That's the sticking point.
Part of it might be the availability of the really really good headphones in wireless or corded only.
Yeah I am with you. I don't want a perceived difference, so I will definitely look into the quality aspect, but.... Hell even MP3's weren't true source quality. and I can't think of any online stream that is not true source, due to bandwidth over the air. the biggest issue i can see with the sound quality is if an IOS update borks it or f's up the codec.
We're so screwed anyway, does it really matter? Think of all the wifi and other signals that we're exposed to daily.
They sell the sony bluetooth headphones at costco. They were on sale for 100 a couple of weeks ago. They aren't amazing but for the price they are great considering that they are pretty comfortable. They are the big ones, not earbuds.

Well, it appears its a 1 lightning adapter to 2. So you'll still have to put the headphone adapter on top of that.
