My brother told me that he heard a rumor about Celtics losing on purpose to try to get Greg Oden. Now, even if the Celtics have the worst record, it all depends on the lottary. So, has anyone else heard about this rumor?

no.. [IMG] its against NBA rules and plus the Celtics would never do this...and PP would never be down for it...neither would Delonte West and im sure the rest of the team wouldn't wanna tank eitherguys like Perk would be losing their roles on the team

that's total bullsh**. they're pro's and even tho there are guys that play only for money, they don't lose on purpose. people said the same thing about the cavs and lebron. you still have to win the lottery to get the first pick I think you're only guaranteed the top 3 picks.

Idk if the Cavs were losing on purpose.. probably were but imo they got lebron cause of 1 reason.. STERN. I understand it's a lottery but the Cavs weren't even the worse team and Lebron playing in his hometown brings a lot of ticket sales and $$$$ to the league.

I doubt it's true. I'm sure Boston already learned their lesson when they were purposely tanking to try and land Duncan, and then they got screwed in the lottery and ended up with the second pick.

    Paul Pierce
    Wally Szczerbiak
    Tony Allen
    Al Jefferson
    Kendrick Perkins
    Delonte West
    Ryan Gomes
    Theo Ratliff
    Brian Scalabrine
    Michael Olowokandi

That's why we are losing. All of those guys have been injured this season, and most of them have missed significant time. We are playing a bunch of inexperienced players who are trying to get themselves going in the NBA. To top it off, the guy on the sidelines isn't exactly Phil Jackson, ya know what I'm sayin?

We aren't tanking, we aren't losing on purpose to get Greg Oden. We are losing because of the major injury problems, inconsistency, and youth/inexperience.

Haha this thread is ridiculous. The Celtics suck, they're obviously not purposely losing. They go out there every single night, and those kids play their ass off, they just don't have it. More wins will come as Pierce gets back.

The Celts are so bad it may APPEAR they are losing on purpose, but no, they just blow.

Your brother was smoking when he said that, losing on purpose? Do you know how many jobs are on the line if they don't win? Do you know what it will do to attendance? The more you lose, the less attendance, the less money you have, the less happy your players are. Losing on purpose, give me a break!

I don't have a source. Today he just told me that he heard that the C's are losing to try and get Oden in the draft. I was just wondering if anyone else heard about something like this. Guess not.

If anything stern with fix the draft so he can go to a team where alot of money would be made. Thats why I think the bulls should keep the knicks pick.

[IMG] Stern doesn't fix the lottery. Give me a break. And Serge, you hope the Sixers consider tanking? Do you realize that they have the 3rd worst record in the league right now? Do you realize that their best player is Andre Miller?

And he might get us enough wins to keep us from having a good chance at Oden/Durant. And I think we can get a first rounder for Miller so we can have 4. Then move the 3 bottom ones to move up. And Iggy is our best player on the Sixers not Miller.

First of all, my point was to say that the Sixers don't need to "tank." They are going to lose a ton of games anyhow. And Andre Miller is much more established at this point than Iggy. Iggy is more talented, obviously, but Andre Miller is the more established player and leader in the NBA as of right now.

I think we should try to treade Miller don't see why we need this guy.

I don't even see Andre Miller worth a first rounder. He isn't all that great now.
