The song Stairway to Heaven written by the band Led Zeppelin has to be the best songs featured in the history of music. If you disagree with me, leave BBW and sign up at All Ball, ect. But in the early 80's the song kicked up quite a controversy. The song played backwards revealed a satanic prayer. I hate to post it but...<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><span style="font-size:8pt;line-height:100%">Oh here's to my sweet Satan. The one whose little path would make me sad, whose power is Satan. He'll give those with him 666.There was a little toolshed where he made us suffer, sad Satan.</span></div>Everyone in the band has denied that it was done on purpose and has tried to ignore it as much as possible. What do you guys think?
Few things just so I know:1. I've never heard this song except this part backwards:http://youtube.com/watch?v=l8N0hAePOpw2. If I dl it, what point in the song is it(forwards)?3. Rather odd and weird, and I doubt it wasn't done on purpose, but I don't give too much of a damn. Usually when I see something like this I'd get goosebumps, but I didn't really. Not a big deal. Here's the potential Queen one: Which I don't really think is real:http://youtube.com/watch?v=ca6k7i8p9Oo
7goat, you shouldnt listen to the song just cause it scares or freaks you out. The meaning of the song is just the exact opposite of what I quoted
I'd bet if you listened to it without reading the "lyrics", it would just sound like mumbo jumbo. You could get it to sound like anything you want to basically. Write down some random lyrics and read them while you listen. And GJ-The part goes something like this.if there's a bustle in your hedgerow, don't be alarmed now,It's just a spring clean for the May QueenYes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long runThere's still time to change the road you're onAnd it makes me wondeSomething like that.Link to the real song- http://youtube.com/watch?v=eB3LdEAbhuA
Im a huge Led Zeppelin fan and I love Stairway to Heaven, its not one of my main favourites but I love it. In my opinion those backwards things are just fake. Think about it, they don't make sense. If you read the lyrics, they aren't the same letters backwards. Its just a bunch of bull.
I love the song, but I can't deny that the lyrics are probably done on purpose. Who in the band wrote the song?

Wikpedia-<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The music was written by Jimmy Page "over a long period, the first part coming at Bron-Yr-Aur one night".[2]The recording of "Stairway to Heaven" started in December 1970 at the Basing Street Studios (Island Studios, London). The song was completed by the addition of lyrics by Robert Plant during the sessions for Led Zeppelin IV at Headley Grange, Hampshire, in 1971.</div><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The first attempts at lyrics, written by Led Zeppelin vocalist Robert Plant next to an evening log fire at Headley Grange, were partly spontaneously improvised and Page claimed, "a huge percentage of the lyrics were written there and then".[3]Jimmy Page was strumming the chords and Robert Plant had a pencil and paper. Plant later said that suddenly, "my hand was writing out the words, 'There's a lady is sure [sic], all that glitters is gold, and she's buying a stairway to Heaven'. I just sat there and looked at them and almost leapt out of my seat." Plant's own explanation of the lyrics was that it concerned "a woman getting everything she wanted without giving anything back".[2] The lyrical inspiration came to Plant by his search for spiritual perfection and a key influence was the book Magic Arts in Celtic Britain by Lewis Spence, which Plant had recently read; it contained references to May Queens, pipers, and "bustling hedgerows".</div>That above just screams out "I LOVE THE DEVIL!"

Well, Jimmy Paige was into all that "Black Magic" sh*t. Most of the lyrics come from the old book "Magic Arts in Celtic"(pronounced K-eltic).
Jimmy Page didnt write th lyrics to Stairway. Plant did it all the way. Now Page did write the music, but not the lyrics. Matter of fact, after this song was recorded, Page loved the lyircs so much, he had Plant be the main lyricist for every song after that that Zeppelin recorded. Stairway was recorded in 1971 I believe and was on the Led Zeppelin 4 album also known as Zoso. This was Zeppelin's 4th album out of 9 albums. Bryant is right about both Plant and Page being deep into the occult scene back in the day. Plant even bought Aleister Crowley's old house. Crowely supposibly found a door or pathway to hell back in his day. Crowley is the same "Mr. Crowley" in the Ozzy Osbourne song. He was and is a major influence on occult writings and activities. On top of all this, if you read the quoted stuff that the Captain put a few posts back, that would be the house that Page bought. I personally dont think that you should take what Plant said about the pen magically moving by itself and making him write it as fact. I think he is just merely saying it in a metaphoric way. Now onto the lyrics, I've listened to it on a backmasking site that I posted a few months back and then I've actaully recorded the song backwards myself and it does in some capacity sound like a sybliminal message, but its very crude and hard to understand. I dont think that Page did any of this on purpose or with intent to call on evil demons or anything like that. If anything, he did it just so it would bring contraversy to the song and give it more publicty which in effect pushes sells up. If you want, I can find that backmasking site again and post it or something. It also has a few other songs on there by Queen, The Eagles, John Lennon, Pink Floyd, and a few others.
Maybe that was the point, its there, without them knowing, but meant to be there. If you know what I mean.
Question: How the hell did people find out about this? Is there some guy that just sits around playing songs backwards?
