The song Stairway to Heaven written by the band Led Zeppelin has to be the best songs featured in the history of music. If you disagree with me, leave BBW and sign up at All Ball, ect. But in the early 80's the song kicked up quite a controversy. The song played backwards revealed a satanic prayer. I'd bet if you listened to it without reading the "lyrics", it would just sound like mumbo jumbo. You could get it to sound like anything you want to basically. Im a huge Led Zeppelin fan and I love Stairway to Heaven, its not one of my main favourites but I love it. In my opinion those backwards things are just fake. Think about it, they don't make sense. If you read the lyrics, they aren't the same letters backwards. Its just a bunch of bull.
I love the song, but I can't deny that the lyrics are probably done on purpose. Who in the band wrote the song?

Well, Jimmy Paige was into all that "Black Magic" sh*t. Most of the lyrics come from the old book "Magic Arts in Celtic"(pronounced K-eltic).
Jimmy Page didnt write th lyrics to Stairway. Plant did it all the way. Now Page did write the music, but not the lyrics. Matter of fact, after this song was recorded, Page loved the lyircs so much, he had Plant be the main lyricist for every song after that that Zeppelin recorded. Stairway was recorded in 1971 I believe and was on the Led Zeppelin 4 album also known as Zoso. This was Zeppelin's 4th album out of 9 albums. Bryant is right about both Plant and Page being deep into the occult scene back in the day. Plant even bought Aleister Crowley's old house. Crowely supposibly found a door or pathway to hell back in his day. Crowley is the same "Mr. Crowley" in the Ozzy Osbourne song. He was and is a major influence on occult writings and activities. On top of all this, if you read the quoted stuff that the Captain put a few posts back, that would be the house that Page bought. I personally dont think that you should take what Plant said about the pen magically moving by itself and making him write it as fact. I think he is just merely saying it in a metaphoric way. Now onto the lyrics, I've listened to it on a backmasking site that I posted a few months back and then I've actaully recorded the song backwards myself and it does in some capacity sound like a sybliminal message, but its very crude and hard to understand. I dont think that Page did any of this on purpose or with intent to call on evil demons or anything like that. If anything, he did it just so it would bring contraversy to the song and give it more publicty which in effect pushes sells up. If you want, I can find that backmasking site again and post it or something. It also has a few other songs on there by Queen, The Eagles, John Lennon, Pink Floyd, and a few others.
Maybe that was the point, its there, without them knowing, but meant to be there. If you know what I mean. :closedeyes:
