Why do I have "insufficient privileges to reply” to the Nation Antheim thread?

    Context is everything, my friend.

If you posted, "I went to the beach with my family and my poor daughter got sand in her vagina, it was so painful" While I would think it's a bit odd you posting that I wouldn't edit or delete it.

If you posted something like, "you're acting like you have sand in your vagina" or "dude, you still have sand in your vagina over us trading Batum?" those are truly personal insults.

It happens, hell, Sinobas called me out on a personal insult the other day. I went back and reread it and sure enough, I could see where it could be taken as one. Did I try to argue about, no, I deleted it and just moved on.

Oh come on man, you can't talk about this shit face to face. People get REALLY upset. Could lead to more than just harsh words. That's why most people stay away from these topics. This is the only place where people will actually say what's on their mind.

As I see it, OT really should be hands off.

There's a saying that you don't talk politics or religion at the dinner table. It gets messy and heated. I don't think we should hold it against people when it gets down to that.

Unlike that other site where the Lakers mod fucked with OT.

I personally think the lawn mowing jokes are deplorable. That's why I never participate in them. They just aren't funny to me.

They're only amusing to me when something unusual comes along. I've made a few, but don't recall many if any wife jokes other than he married up..Waaaaayyyyy up types of things.

My comment about him being awesome was a joke about tone of a post.

I like any joke that is smart. Chappelle made tons of racial jokes and I found most of them hilarious. There just aren't many Dave Chappelles running around.

So having a sandy vagina is an insult? Are women who enjoy going to the beach less of a person than everyone else?

Screw it, posting my National Anthem thoughts here, since the other thread is locked.

The sad truth is, despite our constitution, we do not live in a utopian country where everyone is treated equally.

The bottom line; anytime one person has the “opportunity” to use their power and influence to control others, “some” people will abuse that power.

“Some” government employees on ALL LEVELS abuse the power they have. Abuse of power is not limited to law enforcement officers picking on one race. It can be any government level employee that has control over permits, collecting taxes or enforcing laws and regulations. Again this abuse of power can happen against anyone, regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, or gender. And the abuse does happen.

In our system, anyone can abuse anyone they target using our legal system. Anyone can sue anyone that want to. Abuse of our legal system happens way too often. Many people have been hurt by others abusing the powers our legal system gives to everyone, regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, or gender.

My point is, we are not playing on a level playing field, NONE OF US, no matter what color we are.

However, not only do we have the right to complain when there is an abuse of power, WE SHOULD COMPLAIN! The point of this discussion is not if, but when, how, and where people that have been abused should complain.

The point many of us are trying to make is. Using our National Anthem to send a message does not help their agenda, there is a huge disconnect. If the goal is to influence and inspire others to correct a problem, disrespecting our National symbol will not achieve that goal.

Here is an example of what I mean.
Say a Catholic has been invited to attend a Jewish friends wedding. The Catholic may not participate in all of the activities due to different beliefs, but will be engaged in the activities in a respectful manner. The Catholic would not use the ceremony as an opportunity to send the message about how ½ million Polish and Hungarian Catholic gypsies were exterminated in the concentration camps by the Nazis during the holocaust, and demand reparations.

Disrespecting a National Anthem is on the same level as disrespecting a religious ceremony.

You may have issues with some government agency. Heck I do, probably against more than one agency. But I would never use our National Anthem to complain about how I have been abused, that would be disrespectful, and unproductive. I would write letters to the appropriate politicians responsible for that agency, and encourage others that have also been abused to do so. If that does not work, go further up the political chain. I would demonstrate in front of the building of the abusive agency to draw attention to them, not at sporting events that draws attention to me. I would contact other government agencies to make them aware of the abuse, such as contacting the FBI to investigate an abuse by law enforcement officers.

The power in the USA is in numbers. Organize as many people as you can supporting a common goal using productive activities. The more people that support your agenda while using productive activities, the better the odds to achieve your goal.

Stop dividing people by disrespecting the National Anthem. That is NOT WORKING to achieve your goal, it is not productive! It does not unite people! It only stimulates conversations about the bad judgment used by the players that are disrespecting a non-related symbol. It does not start conversations to solve the real problem.

Further more, I would like to take this opportunity to voice how displeased I am with Obama for supporting the players disrespecting the Anthem. But it should not have surprised me, as many times as Obama has shit all over the constitution. His legacy will be the worst president in our history. The only thing he did right in 8 years was how he handled the Osama bin Laden disposal. Everything else, he has mismanaged. It will take decades to fix what he broke. Not to mention how he managed to divide a very united country.

@Denny Crane, @riverman, @Further , @bodyman5000 and 1, @SlyPokerDog, know I'm not referring to them. Why don't you? It's "problematic" for people who can't handle the truth that systematic white supremacy is keeping society disconnected. NOT the people complaining about it. To call us racist flies in the face of and completely ignores OUR reality.
