I want to make a video or 2, and I was wondering if anyone had any advice. I've used Windows Movie Maker a couple of times, which is OK. I'm hoping for something a little better, but I'm basically a noob. So, I'm looking for something not too complicated. What have you guys used that you have liked that's easy?

    Windows or Linux.

Looking to overlay multiple sounds on top of the video.

Adobe Premier works well and you can do a monthly subscription so you could probably try it out cheap. There are also free copies around if you look in the right places. It's a little bit more complicated but you can learn basic stuff really easy watching a YouTube video or two.

I also use FinalCut but that and iMovie are on Mac only. iMovie would be a really good choice for just starting out if you can get a mac. You can also check out the local Community Media places because they will have classes and equipment/Laptops you can try out and even take home.
