Tons of guys are great at it (considering it's nearly an automatic foul now days) but Dwyane Wade is like a wet noodle going to the basket and probably the best right now.
I say that Wade is the best at getting to the rim, no doubt. Even though he does get alot of calls from the refs, it is created by him getting to the rim in the first place. When he goes off of screens, he does a great job decided how to use it. When the defenders go around the top, he cuts through the middle of the screen and the defender and has a clear cut to the basket. He is so quick at getting to the basket, and once he gets there, he can finish above the rim. His ability to finish above the rim gives him the slight edge over Tony Parker IMO. Also, I think Lebron and AI are 3rd and 4th. Both are pretty damn good....I dont know who I would put above the other.

Most of the highlights I see of him are of him driving to the hoop.
Guys but cmon though I mean, you have to agree in some way that Tony Parker is probably the best driver in the league? The guy goes down the court and drives at will. If this was a thread about best finisher I would give it to Wade but in the sense of getting to the basket, Parker does it all.
Barbosa? That guy is lighting fast and he just slices through the D with his quickness. But I'd have to say Parker and Wade are probably the best drivers in the NBA atm.

Do you even watch Wade play?Even heat fans will tell you Wade's jumper is average at best. I think it's atrocious and it is. You contest wade's jumper and he misses. Kirk hinrch did it to him. Kobe did it to him. He is a good open jumpshooter but that's about it.Again, you're clueless about everything related to the nba. First it was dirk was a good defender. Then it was Dirk is a better passer than kobe. Now it's wade has a "good jumpshot".

When have you become such an expert? I believe never so stop this I know everything about the nba bullsh**. Did you watch the Finals? How do you shoot 48% from the field without being a good jumpshooter unless you are a big man? Well I guess if you hold open jumpers against Wade than he isn't that great when contested. Unfortunately most of his jumpers are open.
Mavsfan, Melo061 will tell you I am one of the bigger Wade fans you will see, but he is right here. wade is a pretty good jumpshooter, but he is not a great jumpshooter by any means. He is a good open jumpshooter, and early ing ames he seems to knock a few contested ones, but most of the time he can't hit a jumper with someone in his face. Outside of the 2-3ft area around the basket he shoots 35% from the field. For comparison, T-Mac shoots 39% and Kobe 41%. Wade's FG% is so high because he shoots in the high 60% from at the basket and takes the most shots around that area of any guard or SF in the league.
it's certainly not demarr johnson. OWNED.I'd say probably Dwyane Wade or Allen Iverson. Both are relentless at driving, get to the foul line a lot, have the mid range to go along with the close range game, and exceptional speed and ballhandling.
Best big man driver = Chris Bosh or KGAlot of guys can drive well, but Dwyane Wade, AI, Tony Parker, and LBJ stand out...
Definetly Dwyane Wade. Just if you watched the finals you would know this. And to the argument people are saying about him not being a good jump shooter...he might not be the best 3 point shooter, but he is a pretty darn good mid range shooter. Just because you can't always hit the 3 doesn't mean that you can't shoot the ball good. But, Barbosa and Nash are pretty good at penetrating as well...

He even hits 3's now.
First of all, Wade has a pretty good jump shot. All this stuff about him being "average" is just incorrect. If he was average, defenders would gaurd off of him. They dont. They are right up in his grill. I am in NO way saying that he is among the best in the league. But, if im a Heat fan, Im more than comfertable with him taking a jumper. Secondly, yes both Wade and Lebron are among the leagues best at driving. Sure they get bailed out every time they miss the lay up. They would not drive nearly as much if they didnt know they werent gonna have to make the lay up in order to get 2 points out of it. But they get to the hoop. Thats what this thread is about. However, the best driver in the NBA is Tony Parker. Hands down. Nobody can convince me otherwise. He just looks soooooo smooth when he does it. Nothing fancy, pure fundamentals. Could he be fancy if he wanted to? Sure. But Tony takes the most effective path to the basket. Not the prettiest one. On a side note:"A.I. has the sickest and quickest cross over ever. "Tim Hardaway had the best crossover ever. He WAS the "Killer Crossover". Followed by Pistol Pete. Before many of your times, even mine. But I have game tapes on 136 of his games. Have watched all of them. He is really the only person I have ever seen that can hold a candle to Hardaway. Pistol pretty much invented the crossover.
