    Huh?

Well yeah ,capt obvious!!! ;) ,but when has that happened, regardless of whether its bench on bench? And they had their promising future on the court just like we did, and we schooled the hell out of them. Cant renumber the last time our bench destroyed another teams bench like that.

I assume you thought he was going to put up these kind of numbers after Portland gave up cash considerations for him? With a career average of 3.7 points to thus point, how could you ever come up with that.

Bottom line, If this keeps up, Portland has stole another asset from the Tragic. Ball hog or a lack of being a defender aside, Im liking what I'm seeing.

It don't matter who they was against they went out and got it done. Napier also was a scorer in college so that who he is right now. Von dominated there bench and he should of that tells me that starting to relax and playing the game with more confidentance.

That's what I'm talking about. This guy is all pumped that our bench scrubs finished stronger thank another teams bench scrubs. It was like a summer league game out there and not much can be taken from it.

Napier isnt a ballhog. He makes quick, scoring decisions when he gets the ball and doesn't force shots. Just because he makes more scoring moves than scoring passes doesn't mean he's a ballhog.

Meh. That's not what Dame said in that last interview about it. Basically saying it's something Vonleh can build off of.

IF.... Vonleh can continue to show what he did in his first game, it gives the Blazers something they don't have. There is no one else on the team you can really consider an all around PF (Davis but really just on the defensive end) and no one else with any real type of low post moves especially with both hands like Vonleh showed.

That he can also step or and hit an occasional perimeter shot is even better.

One very small sample size but certainly better than what we have seen before regardless of the competition.

I'm stoked about Vonleh making the leap...that's a game changer...his hook shot was smooth with either hand...strongest lower core on the team..plants his feet and he can't be moved...I think we'll see good things from him this season

Not sure why you feel the need to discount Noah's performance and shit on everyone's enthusiasm. Perhaps because we traded your boy Nic to get Noah?

Whatever the reason, you're wrong. It wasn't like a summer league game. Noah never looked that good in summer league. To me, this is a positive. We played these exact same Phoenix Suns in the summer league and Noah did not dominate them then like he did this time. To me, that shows significant improvement. It means Noah has been putting in the work and it's starting to pay off. That's why people here are excited about his performance, even if it was during the 4th quarter of a meaningless preseason game.

Also, it was a glimpse into the future. Our team is built to contend from now until the end of Damian's prime. Hopefully, that gives us a 5-year window. That means Noah will be 26 or 27 years old and entering the prime of his career as Dame and the "older" players are entering their 30s. A lot of development can happen for a big man between the ages of 21 and 26. Noah may not be a factor this year, but if he continues to work hard and show this kind of improvement, he very well could be 2 or 3 years from now.

We are all about the now and PHO is all about the future. PHO has had three lottery picks in the last two years, we haven't even had a 1st round pick. They have used their draft picks very well and have three teenagers that all look like they are going to be very special players. Good for them. Noah is the closest thing we have to a young lottery pick. Yep, he's older than Chriss, Bender and Booker. Not by that much, but the difference in maturity was clearly on display in that 4th quarter. Chriss was the 8th pick in the draft, insanely athletic and probably should have gone higher, but Noah abused him to the point where it looked like Chriss was going to start crying. It was a clear case of a man vs. a child. Vonleh physically dominated the much more athletic, younger player. Vonleh used his strength and intelligence to trump Chriss' athleticism. 5-5 for 12 points in the quarter. It doesn't get much more efficient than that.

Once again I agree. But I was responding to the bench as a whole. None of those guys will get minutes.....Vonleh might.

Waaaaay to much to read, but I did read the first sentence. The guy I responded to was talking about the bench. The guys that were out there aren't going to be on the court in crunch time is all I was saying. If we are talking about JUST Noah, then hell ya that was great to see. Our front court is loaded, but with injuries and certain situations, Vonleh could help a bunch.

In theory, Vonleh is exactly the kind of power forward that we need going forward.

    He can shoot.

    He can rebound.

    He can defend.

He has the muscle to score in the post.

It's just that we don't really have time for him to develop with so many other bigs on the roster, so he needs to develop faster. It's unfair to him, but that's the way of the world.

Vonleh is a keeper. He's probably the last of our bigs I'd trade, if I could avoid it. He's not our best big today, obviously, but he is very likely to develop into one.

What the hell are you talking about? Did you watch the same game as me? It was far from summer league play. The intensity was that of a playoff game. If you don't think Vonleh and Napier are going to get opportunities in the regular season, you been smoking some of the good stuff man. The core of our team is young and I fully expect the minutes for the bigs to be primarily dish out based on performance on in the games and in practice and from what everyone is saying, Vonleh is becoming a monster in practice.
But them, I should chill and remember your the guy who predicted 23 three wins for these guys last year too... so... what do I know, right?

Sorry I got excited for our young hopefuls having a good game. Thanks for putting me in check...

    Thank you....

Geez man, who shit in your cheerios today?

Of course I said the bench, but was referring to our young hopefuls. Of course they wont be out there in crunch time during the regular season. THE POINT was Our young end of bench future prospects kicked the shit out of their young end of bench prospects, meaning our future seems to look brighter. And further more, several of the guys that were in the game will get minutes in regular season play and not just during blowouts. NOt at crunch time but.. .. you know what? not worth the time.. Have fun trying shit on someone else's enthusiasm...
