It's amazing that throughout the whole league, so few players are so similar to eachother. I have been thinking for like the last 10 minutes on this...What players are the most alike? They don't have to be star players, they can be bench riders...etc...I am having a hard time finding very solid comparisons.

One completely random one that is I think an OK comparison is Jeff Foster and Kendrick Perkins. Both are very good positional rebounders without much of an offensive game, not extremely athletic, etc. Better at rebounding on the weak side, etc. You're right though its hard to think of these, I had a hard time just thinking of that one.

The Carlos Boozer/Zach Randolph comparison is pretty solid. But Rashard Lewis and Kevin Durant are very different, they are both 6-10 and can shoot but other than that it's a world of difference athleticly and with defense.

Hmmm... I know I may get flamed for this, but:Dwight Howard = Shaquille O' NealBoth suck as freethrow shooters, hardly shoot from anywhere outside of the in-key, can dunk on anyone at any time, and are very, very strong. However, the downside here is that Howard may not average as many points per game as Shaq did in his prime. Both are good rebounders, though.

Outside of some tendencies and different jumpshots, Kobe Bryant and Tracy McGrady are very similar. they have the same walk, body type, both very smooth, both can get extremely hot whenever they want, etc...

I don't know if this is a bad or good similar players, but I'm thinking Earl Boykins today and Damon Stoudamire in his rookie year. They were both good shooters and were leading the team.

Paul Pierce & Carmelo AnthonyBoth dynamite scorers that can shoot the 3, have a nice mid-range game, they are strong, and both are good post-up swingmen. Both are also both underrated passers.Quinton Ross & Dahntay JonesBoth are energetic, athletic, and good defenders.Rashard Lewis & Tim ThomasObviously Lewis is much better, but both are 6'10'' SF's that can shoot it from deep like crazy when they are hot.Keyon Dooling & Marcus BanksDooling is better, but both of these guys are athletic guards who are faster than lightning. Both aren't very good shooters, but both can score off penetration. And finally, both are defensive assassins.

First pair or players that came to mind were Stromile Swift and Amare Stoudamire. Yes Amare is way better but they are both big man with great athletic ability and great dunks.

^ya, if you imagined a Stro that lived up to potential...he wouldve been a Amare type of player.

Here's one not mentioned. Tony Parker and Devin Harris. Both are faster than hell when they drive. they both play pretty good defense, and they both have marginal jump shots. Although Harris doesn't get as many minutes or touches that Parker does, they both play the same way on thier respective teams. Parker is a ittle better passer as well.
