I'd rather he play to but I agree the positives outweighed the negatives. I'm not going to go crazy over game one of a long season because I feel there's going to be bumps in the road. That said I really liked what I saw out of a lot players last night. They seemed for at least one game carry over their good play and promise from the preseason to the regular season. No knock on Brassard because I really liked him but Zibanejad has made us quickly forget. Pirri is a guy who if they can keep him motivated could be a huge steal of a cheap signing. Then there's Kreider who looked like he wants to take a leadership role on this offense. He just has to know you need to bring it every night and then the sky can be the limit for a guy with his skill set.

The way I see it is they need to learn again how to protect their leads in the third period. It is hard to score so many goals every game. Especially when you have rookies in your lineup who will have slumps throughout the season.

Girardi and Staal need to stop wandering away from the net to leave open, point blank shots on Hank. I'm worried about Hank holding up as opponents crash the net with impunity. First game in, great response to a fishstick rally. This team has 4 lines that can create scoring chances.

AV just doesn't get it on McIlrath. Still remember the Crosby quote on McIlrath. "We took notice when he was out there." In other words AV. Wake up you dumb bastard.

Wasn't sure what they were doing with the Pirri signing. He along with Zibanejad is the biggest reason this offense looks completely different. Finally some forwards who shoot the puck.

the Pirri signing could be a real steal for Gorton but wasting their pick on Holden was just dumb as you have McI and Graves who can come up anytime this season.

Maybe AV played Clendening because he wanted to see how his play translates in the regular season. He played ok in preseason.. Maybe because the Isles have a softer lineup than last year.. Idk but he should play DMc against the Blues

I think they're content for another year to have McIlrath as the spare who they use against slower, more physical teams like Philly and NJ. Perhaps if Girardi or Staal weren't here still he'd play even more but unless they get so awful you can't run them out there anymore they'll get the nod. We'll see after the new year what they look like. Their salaries definately play into it.

If Dylan doesn't play in 42 games this season he becomes an unrestricted free agent.

Seems again Dylan was in a game where a Ranger still got ran. Crosby made a nice comment yet it still happens so this whole dream of him as the big protector is not true.
So now it comes down to him playing as a true defenseman instead of being the deterent.
Personally, in the games i have watchedx he is not any worse than what we have.
There has to be more to this than meets the eye. Something at practice or behind the curtain.

As usual. Al has no clue. Nobody said cheap shots won't happen. Difference is when McIlrath pays, the guys pay for cheap shots. Like Gudas would have if his moron teammate didn't jump in to save his pussy ass. When Dylan doesn't play, Rangers get run and then act mad and yell at the other player. Amazing Al, you could still be this clueless on how hockey works.

Vesey got boarded in the preseason and nothing happened and nobody paid any price. People need to make up there mind whether they want him to play because he's a solid defenseman or he's the enforcer who will be off the ice ten minutes a game with fighting majors.

Are you retarded 717? Nothing happened? McIlrath came flying in and started throwing punches. Only Gudas teammate saved him from an ass beating. I swear, it's like some of you watch fucking games with your eyes closed. That comment basically makes you look like a moron who knows nothing about watching hockey games. Oh my God.

A response like that and others are retarded, morons and fools. If only you could grasp how ridiculous a grown man looks when he does this well just take a look at Donald Trump. Then again I guess you have to try and act tough somewhere in your life. The facts are Vesey got run with McIlrath on the ice so there's goes the deterent argument. It further goes out the window because after Simmonds took his so called medicine last season and stood his ground the Flyers are clearly not intimidated. Let the kid play for reasons beyond your fantasy WWE mindset.

What dump cant get past his own fantasy world is the actual thing that makes the most sense....HIS TEAMMATES STOOD UP FOR HIM MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE to get Gudas.
So clearly there is no fear factor around because Dylan is on the ice or in the game.
If that is the sole reason he would be on the team it only proves time and a it doesnt work.

Ill say this the millionth time....being a top 6 dman can not be in the penalty box for 10 to 15 minutes a game. That will kill the remaining 5 dmen.

Al, he isn't going to be in the box 10-15m a game. If he played 70+ games he would have about 10 fighting majors

Not if he is supposed to stop the attacks on all the other players on the team.
Respect comes only after you make your point....i dont want that from my defenseman.
