I found this on another forum that found this on another forum but I thought it'd make a good thread. Go Nash!<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Ok so the site 82games.com tracks how a player does in "crunch time" (crunch time being the last 5 minutes of a game that is within 5 points or in overtime). They track points scored in that time, efficiency of scoring, how a team does in crunch time with that player on the floor etc etc.Heres the point though:So far this year, the players that scored the most points per 48 minutes of crunch time go like this:1. Ben Gordon 63.7 points2. Gilbert Arenas 51.5 points3. Dwyane Wade 50.1 points4. Vince Carter 48.1 points5. Steve Nash 46.5 pointsSo going strictly by how much they take over the scoring load for their team, those are the 5 best clutch scorers in the league. The surprises here to me are how much Steve Nash actually takes over the scoring for the Suns when it matters, and also the ridiculous rate at which Ben Gordon scores in the clutch. I knew he was a great 4th quarter player, but damn. But that stat isnt everything in terms of clutch scoring. It doesn't matter how much they score, if it is not at an efficient clip. I wouldnt want a star player who makes a lot of shots in crunch time, but misses way more. So here are the True Shooting Percentages of each of those 5 players in crunch time:Ben Gordon .566Gilbert Arenas .571Dwyane Wade .468Vince Carter .491Steve Nash .705So it seems that Wade and Carter score a lot in crunch time but its at a very inefficient clip, making their clutch scoring MUCH less valuable in my opinion. So it seems that the three best clutch scorers in the league this year are clearly Gordon, Arenas, and Nash. I am a bit skeptical of Gordon's numbers though for the simple reason that, because he is not actually on the court almost 100% of the time in crunch situations like these other guys, his number of minutes of crunch time is about half that of these other guys. So while hes putting up GREAT numbers in the clutch, I am thinking they will most likely come down once hes put down more crunch time minutes. We shall see.In any case, the clip that Steve Nash scores in crunch time is absolutely ridiculous. Gordon and Arenas shoot at an efficiency that is above average in a part of the game where defenses crack down. That is impressive, but Nash, so far this year in crunch time, is scoring at an incredibly efficient rate. Just to put it in perspective, if he scored that efficiently for an entire season, it would be the most efficient any player has ever scored in the history of the league for a season. Furthermore, what is also impressive is the way that Nash keeps up his assist totals during this part of games while STILL scoring a huge amount of points. If you take his assists in crunch time and projected them over his avg number of minutes per game, it would come out to 11 assists per game, the same as he is doing now. Neither Gordon, nor Arenas have any number of assists to speak of in crunch time.So in conclusion, we all know Arenas is amazing in clutch situations this year, we all know that Ben Gordon is a 4th quarter beast, but what you probably did not know is that Steve Nash may be the best overall clutch scorer in the league.</div>
It's kind of obvious it would be Nash.Melo is really good in the clutch too as well as Jamal Crawford.
Um no, its kind of obvious that it would be Gilbert Arenas..how many buzzer beaters has he it this year?

Based on that data, a buzzer-beater is just as good as a foul shot 2 minutues into the fourth. I do agree with you though, Gilbert Arenas has been the clutchest shooter when it comes to giving someone the ball for a last second shot.
Oh I see. I didnt really read that thing he posted, lol. I thought he just meant the best clutch shooters overall, not according to stats.
I say screw stats, especially with the stats this guy put out. "Most points per 48 minutes in the last 2 minutes of the game"... ugh. Bottom line, the best clutch scorers are Gilbert Arenas, Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, Paul Pierce, Dwyane Wade, Chauncey Billups, and Ben Gordon.
Chris Bosh is very clutch. He hit a three to propell us to victory over the Hornets, and also a game winning three against the Sixers earlier this year. This guy isn't even a long range shooter, yet in the two times that we really needed him to make it, he came through. Also, we can always count on him to get to the line in the clutch. This guy has some balls.TJ Ford is also clutch. Anyway, enough about the Raptors. Kobe Bryant, Gilbert Arenas, Steve Nash are also outstanding clutch players this year. I think Gil is the clutchest this year. How many game winning 3's has this guy hit?
Mehmet Okur should be on there, he is constantly bailing Utah's ass out of trouble. He has hit game winning/tying shots against PhoenixX2, MemphisX2, Seattle,Washington, Atlanta,Detroit, LA Lakers, and a couple other that I am forgetting. though he tends to do it with a few seconds on the clock, thats how they lost to Washington and Memphis.

Personally, I think that Kobe is the most clutch player in the game. Not only does Kobe make clutch shots at the ends of games, but he makes great passes in the ends of games as well to set his teammattes up for easy buckets. I think that should be considered "clutch" almost as much as the person making the shot. In the Lakers game the other day, even though the Lakers lost, Kobe hit 3 amazing shots on Bruce Bowen, and made two great passes for dunks. I just think Kobe has been the most clutch even though he isnt on the list. Gilbert is also another big one...

Ya I agree that Gilbert Arenas is the most clutch person in the Nba I mean when he has had the chance to tie or win he hasn't missed this year which is pretty amazing. His last second heroics has led his team to about 5 wins. I think Kobe should also be up there I mean he makes some incredible shots late in games and you can't defend his jumpshot he's just too good.
