<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>OKLAHOMA CITY ? According to a Bergen (N.J.) Record report Saturday citing unidentified "sources," New Jersey has offered to trade All-Star Vince Carter to the Jazz for forward Andrei Kirilenko.David Zalubowski, Associated PressThe Bergen Record reports the Nets are shopping Vince Carter around the NBA. Jazz basketball boss Kevin O'Connor and Jazz coach Jerry Sloan both have made it abundantly clear they have no plans to deal Kirilenko, an All-Star in 2004.</div>SourceThis could definatly shake up the West a little bit.
If this were to happen this would make the Jazz go right up there with the best in league with teams like Dallas, Phoneix, and San Antonio. I don't see how the Nets would want to give up their best player for a guy that has underachieved this year but it would work out great for the Jazz. Deron Williams, Carlos Boozer, Vince Carter, Mehmet Okur I mean those four alone are some pretty good players.
The Jazz, or any team for that matter, don't want to give up a good player they have locked up for a few years, for someone they'd basically be renting for half a season. A lot of GM's feel that Carter is going to bolt and likely goto Orlando because thats where his ex-wife and kids are.The only reason I could see for the Jazz doing this trade is to free up cap space so that they can sign Deron Williams to an extention this season. but the kicker in all of this will be that the Nets would want something more than AK in return for VC, most likely Brewer, and Millsap; two players I don't think the Jazz are willing to give up on just yet.
