Seems pretty ordinary to me. Do you think he's an NBA prospect? I don't see that he's even been on a Summer League roster.
The question is how does this translate to the NBA. He looks good out there, he can shoot, almost looks like he can create his own shot, but he's forcing it, he can pass, he's got quick legs...but, this is all against a college level defense, not to mention in college games the pace is so much faster than the NBA...against a NBA caliber defense could he do the same things? In a game with a slowed pace? He looks good, but looks can be decieving.
Don't mock. 2 games playing alongside Frazier, and Anthony Davis is putting up Chamberlain-type numbers. Coincidence? I think not.
I agree. Half those passes he makes get picked off in the NBA. Plus at least 3/4 of his offensive highlights are teardrops from the left elbow, suggesting he doesn't have much diversity in his game. He also doesn't make it look easy when he does get to the rim. I'd say he's 1/10(Maybe less) the finisher that Dame is, and even Dame still has trouble against elite defenders from time to time. Then of course what Shaboid said. Even when he should be using his right he uses his left, and you cant get away from that in the NBA. People will force him right and swat his shit all day knowing exactly where his shot is coming from. That being said it seems like he cant miss a shot! TLDR: Shabazz is at least twice as good as this guy, and you see how hard it has been for him to get minutes.
Yes but he's a pass-first big Point Guard. Very good decision maker, runs the offense very well. He's not a scorer, he can score but he's more of a distributor, floor manager. He's a good defender and rebounder, just a good all around player. Went to a small college and went undrafted, wasn't properly scouted IMO
His assist to turnover ratio in college is only a little better than 1:1. Isn't that bad for a pass first point guard?
What factors do you consider when labeling him a good decision maker? The first one I would think would be turnovers, which he commits a lot of.
Just how he runs the offense, makes the right passes, gets the other players involved, puts them in the right spots, decides when to go for his shot when to let others score, the little things
