Chicago Tribune - According to Sam Smith of the Chicago Tribune, the conventional wisdom around the NBA is that Kevin Garnett and the Wolves will come to an accord on a trade over the summer if the club doesn't make the playoffs or win a series. A friend of Garnett said the idea of being traded in the middle of the season is unattractive to him.
Makes sense. I would too. It's annoying looking at the stats page on nba.com and having 2 teams for the same year. Screw that. Plus you have to fit in on the go.
This is reasonable and understandable. Being traded right before the deadline also would be a little out of hand also.
I say Minnesota should set there sights on lottery for 2008. I think next year, they would get a whole ton out of Garnett if they dealt him. 40 M is left on his huge contract, why not deal him? They would get a real team leader for this guy, if not an all star. Every team in the NBA would be interested, so why not? If anything, they should have dealt him this year, but teams always want to avoid a rebuilding era just because they believe that their fan base will diminish, understood, but in the next 3 years, the T-Wolves could have been in some serious playoff contenion.
it's a good idea...because then you can start from scratch and not have to try to fit into the system mid-way through the season and you can get an understanding with everybody on the team before the next season

I'm hoping the Lakers make a move on him.
Lakers would need a 3rd team because Minnesota and them do not match up well in terms of contracts. Finding that 3rd team would almost be impossible because nobody is going to want to the reason behind teaming up KG with Kobe.
Smart idea with KG. The Wolves have the 8th spot right now, tied with Clippers and are in a 2 game winning streak. But then it's probably time for KG to leave. He said it many times that he doesn't want to be part of the rebuilding process. But it's better to be traded in the off season, so you can know your new teammates better and their style of play.
Am I the only one getting sick and tired of hearing KG trade rumors...my god...when he gets traded let's talk about it but all this is just overkill.

Aside from the Suns streak ending about the only thing else to talk about would be what color Scott Pollard's mohawk will be today
Yeah, I agree with BCB. Let's discuss this when the trade actually takes place or is at least announced.
I think KG just wants to finish one more year in Minnesota and see if his team can make it in the playoffs and possibly go on a run but more than likely that won't happen. I think KG wants to be traded in the offseason because he would get more time to work with his new team and have the whole season to adjust to the system.

Some actually wanna talk about this.I say trade him he deserves to win just like Iverson. I want Denver to go after him in the of season.Nene, JR Smith, Picks, ow Yeah and soda and chips. LMAO hey not out of reach Denver can try.But if the Bulls really want him they will get them they got the most to offer.
