Bummer. I'm guessing Valentine will take his place in the rotation, but we'll see. He's been nice to have around, and certainly better than Snell, but I think his good play has been overstated by some Bulls fans. He's a very uneven player. He plays both sides of the ball with a great edge, but he's clearly erratic and lacks self-awareness on the court IMO. My impression of him after 3 games is that he's great if you want to have an X-factor guy who can do a lot of things off the dribble, but you probably don't want him running your offense. I think the Bulls are trying to use him in the former way, so I'm optimistic he'll have a good role on the team. In Philly I think he got to run wild since they had a scorched-earth roster, and everyone (including himself) began to view him as this high-usage star player when he's not good enough to do that. Then he went to Milwaukee where they expected him to take a backseat to Giannis and things went haywire once he had to be on an actual team and subvert his instincts to an offensive scheme. Hopefully he's found a good spot for himself here. Missing him will hurt, but I don't see it bringing the show to a halt.
Too bad, but if you were to replace Tony Snell for MCW in the headline, this is only slightly worse, ie., no biggie.
