His +/- so far is an abject disaster. Part of that is that he has been bad and part of it is he has been on the floor when Dame is on the bench and CJ is 'playing' PG.

I think CJ is best as a scorer when he has the ball in his hands. Despite what Allen paid for Turner, I think his role needs to be reduced. He needs to be an outlet for Dame or CJ if they get trapped, or if someone too good is defending them. I also still get the impression that Turner is looking for cutters and slashers to pass to, and we don't seem to do that.

I think we need to start him and move CJ to the bench unit leader.

Apparently they're missing him in Boston. Trade him for Amir Johnson and Jonas Jerebko if he still sucks by the time he's tradable?

He's not awful. But the CJ/Turner/Crabbe lineup is.

He's an okay bench player, but that contract is going to make people not big fans of his for as long as he's here and is just decent at best.

So we have played 4 regular season games.

    vs Utah - 1-7 shooting (14.3%), 3 points

    vs LAC - 2-8 shooting (25%), 4 points

    vs Denver - 5-9 shooting (55.6%), 11 points

    vs GSW - 5-6 shooting (83.3%), 14 points.

Wasn't the knock on him that he can't shoot? We're 2-2 so far this season, and the two losses are to LAC and the Warriors. Things aren't that bad right now. Turner is improving with every game.

I don't think the issue is with his shooting...it's that the offense comes to a grinding halt when he is in there. He hasn't really run the P&R and he has had some really bad turnovers. Some of that is him getting used to new players and some is him forcing a pass. Portland doesn't cut to get to the basket like most teams they cut to get to the 3 point line. If he can't force a double team the second unit is really gonna struggle because their offense is based on ball movement.

Part of that is CJ though. Neither of them is doing a good job running that second unit.

And I disagree about the shooting not being an issue, people were bitching like crazy about his shooting.

It was an issue for those 2 games but over 82 games he will be fine. He will get more comfortable and get to his spots. You can see him push to get that elbow jumper.

Yeah it would be good to see Napier get a little run with the second unit. He's a scoring PG so he would work a little closer to what Dame does with dribble penetration.

A rotation where Napier comes in for Dame in each half for 5 min and Crabbe plays 2 when CJ comes out and ET for Mo. Mo could also slide to 4 or vonleh if you need a bigger 4. 9 man rotation with Davis at backup C.

If Turner is garbage the rest of our second unit is complete trash.

11 points off 5-9 shooting. 10 rebounds and 3 assists last night. He's starting to find a groove.

Turner has made 15 of his last 24 shots and is now shooting .462 FG% and .400 3FG%. Time to find someone else to hate.

I see KingSpeed has now switched his hatred of Turner from "he has the worst shooting form in the entire league" to he commits too many turnovers and had a +/- of -36 against GSW.

I suspect those things will also improve as he continues to adjust to his new teammates, new role and new system.

Imagine that....ClownTown jumped to a conclusion either negative or positive way too early. Never saw that coming.....but at least we'll finish ahead of the Warriors this season right Jinx?
