Picked up their play later in the second after AV benched his three top scorers for the rest of the period...LOL Go figure.
Skjei has improved a ton since the start of the year but the rest putrid? You' can't be 5th in goals against with a "putrid" defense. McDonagh is playing some of his best hockey since the cup finals year. Staal has also been very good. Girardi has looked good for his standards past few games. Holden and Klein have been the weak links thus far.
I don't know, the vets on D just haven't looked that good to me but maybe I'm just expecting more from them. Holden's looked ok so far.
Came back with strong effort in the second half of the game. Ricky has showed up so far this season. Good sign but we all know he needs to show up in the playoffs. Stepan still stinks though.
The Oilers are all dynamic offense and not much defense/goaltending as always. They will probably make the playoffs this season, though.
No one in hockey business saw the Rangers as a top echelon team. The season is barely one month old and you hear,"What's going on with the Rangers?" They were supposed to be a middle of the pack hockey club fighting for a playoff position. OK, it is a long season and they may still be average.......but, they have four very good lines and a transitioning D which may prove hockey know-it-alls wrong. One thing for sure, it looks like it's going to be a very promising season for the New York Rangers.........something Ranger fans have not seen for many years.
^^^^^ok, past years they were tabbed to be good. Their transition game is much more fluid than past years.
Klein really seems to be struggling through the first eleven games. I expect some better play out of him.
