Wasn't able to watch the game so I have no first-hand insights. Still, obviously another very poor performance. Through 6 games, the Bulls are 3-3, 2-1 at home and 1-2 on the road, which is about what you'd expect. What is disappointing to me is that the Bulls are currently 25th in the NBA in defensive rating. The starting 5 (Rondo, Wade, Butler, Gibson and Lopez) all have reputations as stout defenders, but as a unit, they're playing as less than a sum of their parts. Naturally, fingers get pointed at these players and at Hoiberg, but I'll also point one at assistant coach Jim Boylen, who like the players, came to the Bulls with a strong defensive reputation. Reputations are earned over time and they can be lost the same way. Yeah, it's very early, but the flag is up for me. This team needs to get its defensive act together.
