Most of the infrastructure formerly used in this state is in various states of dereliction.
Including the Locks around the falls on the Willamette river at Oregon City The river has been navigable for over 140 years up stream to Jefferson.

But no more, Obama doesn't care, most of the ports on the Oregon Coast are becoming unpassable due to lack of dredging on the bars.

Who will fix this? Hillary or The Donald?

Then we have the once great Port of Portland. Once the Port that shipped more tonnage through to world than another on the West Coast. Totally idle, on the path to dereliction due to liberal leadership locally.
    Hardly progressive.

Trump wants to privatize our highway and bridge system. Tolls everywhere!

I guess you haven't seen the new Tillicum bridge. No point in doing anything with the Willamette Falls locks since the bridge is too low to allow commercial traffic past it.

Ok, I just downloaded the lastest nav chartl The Tillicum bridge allows a height of 77' to pass under at the center. This is one foot more than the 205 bridge at West Linn and 3 feet more than the old bridge at Oregon City. So it is not an impediment to river traffic. The inoperable locks sure are though. This section of the river was never navigable by ships, small craft and barge traffic.

That is one thing I greatly disliked about the (un)Tillikum bridge.

Not that it's too low, but it's low.

Kind of like the new Sellwood bridge. I don't dislike it for how high it is, but that it's so boring and ugly looking.

I'd put a toll booth up on the border of California but only for cars with California plates

Why don't you run a contest to see if someone might provide and answer. I am sure the Locks will not do it all on their own. Neither will access to port on the Oregon coast.
But what the hell, most everything Oregon ship out in days gone by doesn't now. This summer running around on the boat, the only thing I see being shipped is wood chips and logs. A lot of logs!
Not so smart I don't think, but what the heckl, soon nobody will notice when you can ship anything you won't notice.

Sounds like jealousy more than anything. Maybe I'm jealous of Hillary, will have to delve deep in the old noggin.

That made me laugh....fuck Trump, I have no jealousy of him, his silver spoon life or his silicon bimbos...I don't like bullies or blowhards or draft dodgers like Trump who claim to understand war.....the only thing Trump understands is how to use lawyers to manipulate his profits.....and to me, anybody who looks up to him has serious issues...wouldn't trade my life for Trump's period.

Why is it the president's responsibility to "fix" Oregon? Isn't that why we elect people to congress??? It's the president's job to represent the country as a whole, not go around and clean up the messes the individual states have made in their own backyards......often with the assistance...or lack thereof.....from an ineffective and criminally partisan congress. Your expectations of one individual are unrealistic. It's his or her job to worry about the big picture and our place in the world. And liberal leadership has absolutely nothing to do with it. It's a failure of leadership period. Maybe a huge part of the problem is that across the country everyone from the individual citizen on up is too busy choosing up sides for effective changes of any kind to occur anywhere.......

Yeah, I would sooner look to our State legislature for change rather than the president.

Who looks up to him? He's a lucky ass who was born into money. So what?

It astounds me that people are pissed at him for how he grew up and he is supposed to be a saint despite his upbringing. If I was born in Detroit in the 60s I might be in charge of General Motors. I wasn't and I'm not.

Trump's life was never normal and despite that he is still a better choice than the alternative if you are against amnesty for illegals and importing hundreds of thousands of refugees here at what, 65 grand per year each?

Against Nafta and Ford making small cars in Mexico. Against the TPP..... go on and on.

The only thing Hillary's ads are missing is the elephant man. They make sure they pander to each and every minority possible. It's all bullshit by rich people who do not care what happens to anyone else.

And hey, if Trump doesn't even want to pay people he owes money to, maybe he won't waste trillions of our dollars. At least there is a CHANCE with him whether he is evil or not.

I would like to believe we have a chance with any elected official. Call me jaded, but I will only believe it when I see it.

People aren't pissed at Trump for how he grew up or his privilege....at least not me..I'm pissed at him for who he is, how he acts and profits from losses to avoid paying taxes..I don't like his misogynistic, disrespectful treatment of women and minorities...on and on...but hey, maybe he's your hero . He won't do any of the things he says if he's elected..he doesn't play well with others..has no sense of diplomacy or any quality it takes to be a leader....Trump makes shit overseas and always has....every car company in the world has plants all over the world...so do guitar makers...so what? I admire quite a few billionaires....Bill Gates, Warren Buffett...I'm not a classist. I just call it like I see it. Trump should change his slogan to Make America Hate Again
