Memphis Grizzlies President of Basketball Operations Jerry West announced today the Grizzlies have waived guard Eddie Jones. In 29 games this season, Jones averaged 5.6 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 19.3 minutes per game. The veteran guard scored a season-high 19 points, including the game-winning shot, in a 132-130 overtime victory on Jan. 24 at Utah.http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/444...ve_eddie_jones/
I could see a few teams giving him a phone call. He's a decent defender, good shooter, veteran leader, he's been on plenty of winning teams. I wouldn't mind seeing him in a Nuggets uniform, we could use his shooting and leadership off the bench.EDIT: He's going back to Miamihttp://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/444...ign_with_miami/
Memphis=Rebuild, get Oden, murder all the NBA...Eddie Jones is way more than a decent defender, even with his old ass hes a great defender.
He didn't play much or really help out the Grizzlies in any way during the season and just rode the pine. Since he has been traded to Miami he hasn't got much playing time either. Seems like a good drop at the moment.
His last few games, he was playing very well. Getting about 15 a night..he'll get more PT in the Playoffs defeding players like Rip Hamilton and Vince Carter.
