So confused about all this hate for Aminu on here. Shit, wasn't it just last season people on here were talking about how much better he is than Nic?

    I don't think he's a power forward. That's the first problem.

If they stay healthy you & others will be surprised just how high Memphis finishes this year.
Only reason why they were so bad last year is because of the 25 different starting lineups they used.
Year before that they had a 2-1 lead over the eventual champs. That's with Conley not being 100%. Lost it when Allen's hammy acted up, the guy who was making Curry his bitch.

Considering Aminu's salary for two more seasons, he's a bargain.

Says all we need to know about current NBA salaries.....

This is an excellent win, I don't care how it happened.
Memphis is a good team, beat them in their house too.

To be fair with Crabbe, we are running zero plays for him. Seriously, it looks like rookie Batum out there: Stand in the corner and wait for a pass to come your way.

I assume it's a pun. "The Memphis Blues" is a song and Memphis blues is a musical genre as well. So I'm guessing that's why the Grizzlies chose a couple shade of blues for their team colors.

I had to leave the house after the first quarter and now just finished the game on DVR. What a splendid finish! CJ brought his A game. Hopefully, he can continue his hot shooting next game. And I hope Dame's injury isn't anything major.

Anyway, take this for what it's worth, but while I was watching the game, an acquaintance of mine sat down and watched the 2nd half with me. He claimed to know someone who knows someone with insider knowledge (yeah, I know) and said that back in the summer, Olshey had reviewed the medical report on Parsons' knee and didn't like what he saw (especially at that price tag). That's why we didn't sign him. Supposedly, Parsons wanted to sign here, but Olshey told Parsons' agent to have him sign with Memphis instead. So the reports that Parsons chose Memphis over us is stretching the truth; we were the ones that rejected him.

    That would makes sense because:
    1. Our team should/would have been more attractive than Memphis. The Blazers are a young and exciting team on the rise, who play a fun, fast-paced style of basketball, while the Grizzlies are an old team, possibly on the decline.
    2. Parsons' right knee was clearly not in good shape, since he is finally playing on court for the first time since surgery in March.
    3. Parsons came back a earlier than expected, just in time to play us. What a coincidence. And he looked like utter crap tonight, obviously not ready for prime time yet.
Just thought I throw that out there. As I said before, take it with a grain of salt, especially since it's a second-hand account of a second-hand account.

That Grizzlies team is older now. Carter is 40. Randolph doesn't start anymore. Their window is closed.

You're the one who is obsessed. You're obsessed with defending a guy who doesn't deserve it.

its a quandary, the starting unit is 'mostly' playing decently, but it seems everyone not named Dame is taking turns shitting the bed, and Aminu seems to be doing a little more sheet bleaching than everyone else.

I love Mo's style of play, but we gotta be ready to put people on the pine when they are sucking, although putting in Turner or Crabbe hasn't been anything close to a solution of any sorts thus far.

I think we also need to look at switching things up, Dame - CJ - Mo - Noah - Plum could be something to trial.

I was overwhelmingly against Noah starting and getting like 13mins a game last year, but i think he's put in the work and deserves another shot at starter minutes, but none of this gratuitous 'starter' badge shit.

What I like about being 4-3 at this point with some nice road victories is that we are clearly nowhere near our best and only Lillard has been consistently good (CJ had an amazing night yesterday but otherwise he has been going from average to good). I like the improvement from Harkless, our frontcourt has been diabolical but Plumlee has been generally fine. The team is clearly still looking to settle and find form, so it's nice to have a positive record after 7 games with this being nowhere near our best yet.

Aminu has been pretty hopeless though. I would expect him to be first on the trade block.

What if we trade Aminu and Ed Davis. Really just to consolidate the front-line but lets say we bring a 15mpg shooting or combo guard in return.
Then we use Crabbe and Turner only at SF, Harkless plays both forward positions. Leonard and Vonleh at PF and Plumlee and Ezeli at Center. We play Dame and CJ in the backcourt with Napier and the other guard we bring as their replacements.
Makes much more sense than what we have now
