I voted Johnson (like I said I would), but I would have voted for Bernie just because I think he's decent and humane and unlikely to blow us up.

Well, since my taxes (which I pay) will now pay his salary, I guess he works for me now.

You could have just said "white dude from the early 1900's."

My ex-wife's grandmother was in college in the 40's. When discussing the "race problem" in one of her college classes she stood up and said:

The only way to rid ourselves of this so-called race problem is to spread love and let us intermarry....

20+ years before civil rights passed.

I refuse to believe all white men were racist from the 1900s. Wayne has been quoted.

Oh I'm sure there were reasonable people in that time, but it was far more prevalent back then. Or at least more openly racist.

Well, we're talking about historical facts here though. Racism was very prevalent back then. It sucks when we start looking at historical figures though. We start uncovering things we'd rather not know. I'm not sure if you ever watched the show "Who Do You Think You Are," but they have had a few black celebrities on there who have found out that that their ancestors owned slaves. I imagine that's probably something they wish they hadn't found out.

I think the phrase "ignorance is bliss" comes to mind.
