Aminu can't hit that floater, shot off the curl, or hell the reverse dunk (or even a three pointer these days). We desperately need defense, but these are NBA moves. Something to consider.
I had to watch the game on the clippers feed, and once again the announcers proved idiots over and over again. man they are horrible. nail in the coffin for the night was right after that layman 3, they mentioned how that was his first points in the NBA....
Oh god they are hands down the worst. They mentioned how Portland has to have lillard or McCollum on the court at all times because they can't go 10 deep in their bench like the clippers. Yeah, I wish we had someone as good as Raymond Felton sitting on our bench.
You could make that argument later in the season, but the guys ahead of layman are proven players that for now are going through nothing more than a slump/adjustment to a new team. Now that doesn't mean Layman can't find minutes, but you also want the Turners and Crabbes to find themselves.
The guy that Layman could eventually make expandable is Crabbe. Crabbe has more value around the league than our other "tradeable" pieces and could be the key to someone like Noel. But we have to find out if Layman is legit first. I think he is, but he hasn't played any important minutes yet.
I think one of the more important goals of the season is to get ET to play consistently well.... and it looks like it's going to take a complete season to get that done So, not a lot of PT for Layman. As depressing as this season has been for me, if Vonleh improves a little more and Layman improves a lot more, then we'll actually have bigs who can shoot in the rotation. #wouldbenice
There's only one player who is adjusting to a new team, otherwise our entire rotation has been together for a year or more. At some point you have to reward the players who are getting it done, and cut minutes from the players who aren't. Notice I said "cut minutes", not bench, because, yes, it's vital that Turner/Crabbe/Davis/Aminu get their shit together so they have some trade value.
Honestly, the only thing that makes sense to me is that we don't want to trade Jake, and if we keep playing him teams will insist that we include him in a trade.
Stotts could careless about who is making more. Neither does Neil. Neil drafted the guy and paid the other players. So he gets phrase or criticism either way.
True...but performed well in the minutes given. He was playing because outside of Dame and CJ, the starters weren't playing well in the minutes given.
