it's not selective reasoning...it's simple...CJ is chucking and our bigs aren't finishing shots in the paint or anticipating the no look pass....it's not all on Turner. He's made steady improvement but guys you pass the ball to have to catch it and or make a shot...he hasn't had a lot of help in the stat column. CJ is just not sharp with ball movement and hates to make the extra pass.....especially if he's trying to break a cold shooting slump....I'm still waiting for the return of the alley oop
Kingspeed uses selective reasoning to continue to bash Turner even when he's playing well... You didn't really argue that.
CJ made a huge mistake last night in OT driving to the rim with his head down, he drew the whole interior defense but lost the ball because he wasn't prepared to dish the ball to his open teammates. Hero ball is never going to work with this team. Hope he learns quick.
Yeah that was a bad turnover. But I don't think it was because his head was down, Phoenix just did a good job of cutting him off. Usually he is able to come out the other side of the basket and hit an open 6 footer or make the pass. The Suns were ready for it. But overall I still like when he does it. You have to let Dame and CJ play hero ball at times. Every time a player in this league creates his own shot isn't he essentially playing Hero ball? Hell we could use one more of those players. On the other hand I agree they have all played out of control at times this season. (ALL of them) It needs to get better. But other than his first TO of the game when he tried the rap around pass, I thought ET looked a lot more comfortable. He let the game come to him instead of forcing things. As other have said he should be the secondary ball handler not the primary one. The question regarding ET is not if he has talent, it's how his talents fit in with the other players on the floor. He does a lot of things well that others on the team lack. Against the Suns he tied for the lead with the best +/-. That stat is meaningless IMO when evaluating individual players, but it is helpful when evaluating the unit as a whole. Terry needs to keep trying to find the right combo's.
I think Terry is trying to find a combo that works. I noticed that he brought CJ out first and left Dame in with Turner and Crabbe. That seemed to work okay. Terry will figure it out.
He was decent in the second half today. The less we ask him to do, the better. It was a bad signing. He's certainly not worth 17 mill/year. We'd be better off developing Layman. If a trade is there, we should make it.
So, what's your opinion on the Parson's signing? Did we dodge a bullet there? He played worse than Turner and he makes $6 million more a year than Turner. BNM
I like it how whenever someone on the board says someone sucks, some Polly-anna will chime in and be like "But he had 2 rebounds and 3 assists" I mean, get real, if you're on the court for any length of time you're going to accumulate some statistics. That doesn't mean you don't suck.
Okay so it's arguable that Turner is the worst player in the league right now. He has the worst +/- in fact. Take his contract into consideration and probably no one wants him. But we have to do something. Layman should be getting Turner's minutes. How do you bench a guy getting paid as much as Turner is though? Olshey has to find a solution though.
Bradley also said he misses Turner, they lost a game and he was pissed off saying they miss the rebounding and size of Turner and Sullinger. It would be great to send Turner for the Celtics for ANYTHING, even an expiring contract from a third team
